Meet Shauna Collins

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shauna Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shauna, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to create something where I could have full creative control. Working in a restaurant as a line cook was a great experience and taught me a lot about discipline, speed, and consistency — but there’s often no face or name tied to the dish you prepare. You’re behind the scenes, almost invisible, and you rarely get to see the people enjoying the food.
Starting my own business gave me the opportunity to not only cook, but also connect. I became the brand — my style, personality, and story are reflected in the food I make and the way I serve it. It’s empowering to build something from scratch that’s truly mine, and it’s rewarding to see people appreciate the full experience: the flavor, the presentation, and the heart behind it.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets my business apart is the way I view my clients. They’re never “just clients” to me. From the very beginning, they become like family. I pour my heart into every dish, every service, every event, and my passion drives me to go above and beyond every single time.
I don’t limit myself when it comes to cuisine either. I’m not afraid to try new dishes or step into unfamiliar culinary territory if it means meeting the unique needs and tastes of the people I serve. That boldness has helped me grow so much — not just as a chef, but as a businesswoman. I’ve learned a lot simply by being open and willing to explore beyond my comfort zone.
I’m so excited for the future because I know this is just the beginning. I’ve only been in business a few years, but I can feel that I’m on a long, promising road. Getting to where I am today hasn’t been easy, but I never gave up. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that consistency is everything. And being consistent isn’t always easy because it takes real discipline. To me, discipline means doing the work even on the days you’re tired, unmotivated, or overwhelmed. I’m human like everyone else, so there are moments where I want to pause (and sometimes I do). I pray for strength, I rest when needed, and then I get back to it. But quitting isn’t an option.
Along the way, I’ve also learned that growth comes from reflection — always looking at how you can level up from the last event or service. And that planning and preparation will always save you later.
If there’s one thing I want the world to know about me and my brand, it’s that I am pure and passionate in what I do. I love this work. It’s more than food, it’s an experience. And honestly, it only takes one time working with me or tasting my food to feel that for yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
One place I would definitely take my best friend is Chattahoochee Food Works. It’s a must-visit spot in Atlanta. It’s a vibrant, modern food hall located along the Westside of the city. What makes it special is that it brings together a curated selection of some of the best local food vendors, all under one roof. You can explore everything from gourmet tacos and ramen to craft cocktails, fresh pastries, and global street foods all in one visit.
The atmosphere is lively and creative, with art installations, live music, and an open-air patio that’s perfect for just vibing out. It’s the kind of place where you can eat, drink, hang out, and really feel the local energy of Atlanta. It’s one of my favorite places to recommend because there’s truly something for everyone, no matter what you’re in the mood for.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely. I want to give a big shoutout to Chef Frank who played a major role in opening my eyes to the other side of the culinary world when I was still a student — the catering side, the business side. Watching him work showed me that there’s so much more to being a chef than just working the line. It inspired me to start thinking beyond the kitchen and to see myself as a business owner, not just a cook.
I also want to recognize the many chefs and colleagues who’ve supported me along the way, especially those who’ve stepped in and assisted me during large-scale banquets and events. Catering for high guest counts takes a team, and I’ve been lucky to have some incredible people by my side. I’m grateful for the community and the collaborative spirit that exists in this industry.
