Meet Shatoria Christian | Owner, I Am Shatoria, LLC

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shatoria Christian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shatoria, how do you think about risk?
I call risk-taking faith leaping. I have grown to trust God and leap into what He has for me. I trust Him, so I jump when I see something and my spirit matches. It has played an enormous leap in my life as starting a new business after having a business for over 20 years. It has also allowed me to trust Him with my military Career for the last 21 years. If I didn’t trust him and have faith, I wouldn’t be where I am today.

What should our readers know about your business?
I Am Shatoria, LLC. was officially created in June 2020 and was live for all customers in October 2020. The location of the business started in White Plains, Maryland; however, I have since moved to San Antonio, Texas. The company is also based online, where we conduct many of our services this way as it is more accessible and safe because of COVID.
I Am Shatoria, LLC was created when people needed hope, love, and peace. COVID really hurt many people in many ways, so I embodied the gifts and talents and made a company that would allow people to self-identify with themselves. I use my past pain and hurt to build and create products that would speak to the heart of individuals in many different ways. As I believe in affirmations, I decided to develop affirmation cards and magnets. This way, someone can look at them all the time and have a reminder that they are who they say they are. I also became a podcast host, which allowed me to take the subjects of what matters to people to social media. I reached so many people through this and my Soulful Sundays and Motivational Mondays. People needed a voice to speak for them and show them that it would be okay. I enjoyed doing this as it allowed me to know and embrace my calling to mentor.
Mentoring is something I have always done, and it is something I enjoy. Now I get to do this at a level of understanding people better and being in a place to help. Knowing my gift, I became an author, which showed what I Am Shatoria, LLC is all about. People were able to see me and what my heart and past spoke. It has sold over 400 copies, and we are now on our second year of a retreat for the book. Now that I know my gifts and plans, I can operate correctly in them.
I have learned from my model that I can’t be afraid to step out and do more. I have learned that social media is excellent, but I need to hold on to my website and use it for what it’s for. With social media going down sometimes, I have to trust my methods and go for it. I am working to provide more services but more people to perform those services. My goal is to set up something where I have individuals whose energy matches the business, but I have to make sure that I know their desires and understand mine as well.
The goal is to be on one accord, so I have to be open-minded, and so do my employees. As it is my business, I trust that they will know that their voices will be heard. I can always grow and learn, which makes me a great leader. My goal is to be an incredible leader and lead from the front, even when I may disagree.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I am so simple and love to entertain when I can. So if someone were to come to San Antonio, I would love to take them to places I love. I would start with breakfast at Pancake Joe. Then we are off to the spa for some small girl time. Have a nice lunch at the Cheesecake Factory at the outlet mall. If we are feeling up to the movies, it is an excellent spot at the Flex Brewhouse where you can eat and watch. It is so dope. If not, there is the Riverwalk, where there is much to see and explore, including the Kallison Love Lock Walk Bridge. However, if you love a great show, there is the theater, and I love watching some stage plays. Lastly, we must attend either Sea World or Six Flags. I got to be a kid for a moment.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I must shout out to my family first, including my husband, my children, my additional children, my crew, all those I consider parents, very close friends, and family, and to God over everything.
