Hi Shaterra, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting The Ivy Shoppe was to create a brand that provides comfort, fashion, and personality, all while being wallet-friendly.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We’re most proud of and excited about our IVY satin-lined scrub caps that are made to protect short, long or thick hair on a daily, providing hair breakage prevention, healthier hair and longer-lasting hairstyles. We got to were we are now business-wise with making customer service our top priority. Our customers have made it pretty easy for us to get to where we are currently, but we also want to grow and become a more known brand. The lessons that we’ve learned are success doesn’t come overnight and consistency and time are the key factors for creating longevity. The story for The Ivy Shoppe is just starting and we plan to continue to grow our brand in terms of developing new products to meet the need of the ever changing medical industry..

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I think my favorite spot is Philips Arena. They literally have everything plus entertainment. Go Hawks! I’m a real home-body, so the rest of the week will be at home.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to dedicate a huge shoutout to my husband, Emery. He gave me the urge to want to do entrepreneurship and also gave me the confidence to go through with it all. He provided the tools and resources to make this dream become a reality. I always be grateful for his ongoing patience and understanding.
