We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharonda Reeds and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sharonda, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
My reason behind pursuing an artistic or creative career was to be able to incorporate my vision and passion into my crafts. My desire was to make my brand stand out from the rest.
I decided to use natural and organic ingredients as well as soy products that are free of toxins.
My goal is for each customer to have access to quality products which would nurture moisturize and in some cases heal their skin.
Smell My Love also selected a 100% Soy Wax that is considered a non-toxic wax, which is used for candles and wax melts. The concept of a non-toxic (clean burn) wax falls in alignment with Smell My Love being as close to natural as possible.
I would like everyone that uses my products to experience the passion and love that goes into making them.
What should our readers know about your business?
Smell My Love by Sharonda started out to bring additional income into my household.
After extensive research and testing, I determined that I needed to teach women about self-care. Often as single parent we put our needs last, because we feel that we must maintain our household and provide for our children.
However, I provide Woman Wellness Workshops to show woman how to provide self-care using household ingredients. I take time to educate them on carrier oils that we can find in our cupboards, as well as granulated sugar and salt.
I put passion and love into every product that’s created and every package that’s processed.
The ingredients, waxes, labels, jars, lids, vessels, boxes, crinkle paper, tissue paper, fragile/glass stickers, business and thank you card, packing labels and the shipping carrier has been selected by me.
I take extreme pride in my products and presentation. I would never give anyone something that I wouldn’t want to receive. I love what I do!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Friday night, I would take my best friend out to the Blue Restaurant where we can enjoy wonderful ambiance, great food, drinks, and a whole lot of laughter. Saturday morning, we would have a simple breakfast at Sibris Restaurant, where we would engage in conversation to catch up on everything.
Saturday afternoon, we would catch a move then do some shopping at the Promenade Mall in Saucon Valley PA.
We would end the evening having a nice dinner and listening to Jazz at Warmdaddy’s in Philadelphia PA.
Sunday morning, we would attend church service at St. John AME Zion Church in Bethlehem PA.
To end the day off we would show much love to each other and I would wish her safe travel home.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Smell My Love by Sharonda would like to shoutout my parents Ronnie and Carol Elder. My parents allowed me to explore with creating, building, and baking.
I also want to Shoutout my Best friend of 39 years, Beverly Moore – Stevenson, as she showed me how to make sugar scrubs.
