We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharon Griffin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process in starting my business started in 1985 when I was a junior in High School. I knew then I wanted to be a business owner dealing with finance. I took business classes in my senior year and paid close attention to how my parents handled money especially my mom who was in finance. I started college in Sept. 86 but that is all I did was start.

Life happen and then I was with husband and 2 young sons as a stay at home mom. My husband and I wanted our own home rather than rent. Since mobile homes was popular and in our budget, off home hunting we went.

We really did not know anything about credit other than if you pay everything off you can get anything you want. So with a down payment we knew we was going to be good.

Well unfortunately, that wasn’t true because our lack of knowledge about credit placed us in a position that we would be renting instead of owning. It was my credit reports that was showing that I was living in the world of a 50 year old instead of a 21 year old. I had homes, credit cards, medical collections and repos being reported about me. My parents helped us get our home.

After that experience I started educating myself about credit repair. I read every thing I could about credit and how I could repair the situation I was just placed in. Once I cleared up my credit I started helping others just for fun because my thought process was I did not want my family or friends have to experience what had just happen to us because of lack of knowledge.

As I continue to get better at what I was doing, my mom said “Lisa you need to charge people to educate them about their credit” I started thinking that is a way to start my business in finance plus help my husband with bringing more money in the home. So with that being a said my husband and I talked about it and still over 20 years later I am educating people about their credit at SBC Solutions LLC.

My affirmation each morning derived from my experience: “For those who I see today shall not be destroyed for the the lack of knowledge”. Its my version of Hosea 4:6a “My people shall not perish for lack of knowledge.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
SBC Solutions LLC was literally started by my own life experience due to lack of knowledge. Which meant that I was more determine to learn all the rules and regulations of credit repair, the importance of having credit, what type of credit was needed for a personal loan. mortgage, vehicle, business etc.

Still today I have the same determination to stay in formed about the changes.

Which allows me to personally say that I love what I do and every consultation that I provide I look at the situation as if it was my own.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
God and My parents deserves the credit and recognition for my success in life.

I especially give honor to my mom, who did everything for me until she passed in 2008, she was my promoter, bookkeeper, mentor etc.
