We had the good fortune of connecting with Sharice Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sharice, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Firstly, I want to introduce myself. My name is Sharice Brown, and I am the Owner of Luxxscape. During the most challenging time in my life, dealing with infertility, I was constantly looking for ways to escape the everyday stresses of life. From acupuncture, to tons of medications, to countless doctor’s appointments, I started to look for ways that I could self sooth, in a more safe and refreshing way.

After trying so many prescribed alternatives to relieve stress and trying to conceive naturally, I found myself taking self care baths twice a week. My stress lessened, and my skin softened haha. That was my Ah Ha moment.

Self-Care is extremely important when going through infertility and life in general. We all need a sense of calming and relaxation. I started manifesting a luxurious escape from the outside world. I thought that if I can gain a calm mind set just by taking a soothing bath or a satisfying shower experience, so can anyone else. That is when Luxxscape was born.

I wanted to have products that makes everyone feel like they are away at a resort spa, in the comfort of your own home. I source natural ingredients and scents that spark relaxation and that are nourishing to not only your skin, but to your mind.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My artistic and creative abilities allow me to dig deep into what ever it is I am interested in. With Luxxscape, we offer, bath bombs, bath salt soaks, bath & shower oil, and most popular, a sugar scrub.

What I feel sets Luxxscape apart from other bath and body brands, is that our products are made with the consumer in mind. Usually, when we think of “luxury” we think expensive. We think, exclusive. And that is what Luxxscape embodies. Luxury, meaning, our fragrances and formulas are set to give you a spa feeling, For instance, our Matcha Body Scrub is a natural sugar scrub, but not a typical scrub. This scrub is emulsifying. Meaning, it exfoliates, cleanses, and softens your skin all at once.

I make this scrub myself. I’ve formulated IT about 5 times. Although it may change in the future, since I’m always researching new ingredients. I feel like I’ve started off with a winner. This is our top selling product, and I’m oh so very proud of that.

I started a clothing boutique about 3 years ago. I knew that being an entrepreneur was hard work, but I didn’t know that if I were actually interested and passionate about my work, it would make it more easy to obtain. Although my clothing boutique wasn’t a huge success, I’ve learned so much from that experience. With only launching Luxxscape February 1, 2022, I applied my mistakes and good fortune from my past business, which helped mold me into the success I am today.

After reading my story, I hope that I have encouraged you to take a step back and look at where you are right now in life. You may not fully understand your path, your passion, or your ultimate goal. And that is ok. I didn’t always know what I should be doing or what would make me feel fulfilled. Knowing Sharice, is knowing that I radiate self-care. I want to encourage people to love on themselves more. Maybe, even first. If our cups are half full, how can we give 100 percent to anything? My story is ongoing. I struggled with fertility. My first business sort of failed. But I am happily married, and taking my new business Luxxscape as far as God will allow me. Its only up from here!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

Ouuu! This is a really good question!

Atlanta is a great place to explore food and activities. You can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. My wife and I have curateda food list we reference whenever we need a something new or specific. Food ideas: Atlanta Breakfast Club, Fat Matts, Eclipse de Luna, The James Room, Rock Steady, Beetle Cat, Osha Thai, Nina & Rafi-to name a few. Activity ideas: Decatur Distillery, Putt Shack, Ponce City Market, The Belt Line, Piedmont Park.

I like an all day rendezvous, so here is a day in the life itinerary.

We’d start on Saturday morning-City Bound. First, we’d hit up First Watch in Peachtree Corners to grab a “morning meditation” drink to start the day on a refreshing note. Then, we would head to Milk and Honey. I’ll recommend the “salmon hash” and the “Mr. Benny”-the crab cake benedict. Don’t forget the infamous M&K Biscuits!

If Milk and Honey’s wait is too long, we’ll drive on down to Social Republic House on Memorial Dr. I’ll order us a mimosa bucket, 2 “breakfast shots” and WE’LL BOTH  ORDER the chicken biscuit to soak up the liquid goodness we just drank.

We’re stuffed and feeling great. Now it’s time to get active. I’ll take us to the belt line, where we can pick up a few electrical scooters. We’ll cruise down towards Piedmont Park. Passing through the greenery and the lake, grabbing some melodies as we ride. There’s always a local musician playing in the park.

Riding back up to the belt line, we’ll drive up to Ponce City Market. We’re a little parched, so we grab a water and a boozy pop drink at King of Pop. Our scooters are parked, our boozy pops are ordered, so we venture Ponce City Market. After shopping, we’re exhausted. We go home to rest, until it’s time for dinner.

Dinner time has arrived. We’re going to Poor Calvins! We’ll start with the lobster wontons. I’ll suggest either the grilled lamb chops OR the lobster fried rice.

Our Day is complete.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, of course there is! I honestly consider myself the most blessed wife in life. I couldn’t give up an opportunity to thank my wife, Chris. I dedicate this shoutout to her.

She is my right-hand-woman. When I need light, she is my sunshine. When I unknowingly need encouragement, she’s my cheerleader. When I need a hand to hold, her hand comes to cuff mine tightly.

I always have hundreds of ideas and interesting ways I’d like to conquer the world, and Chris is right there routing me on. Any success I have, she deserves half the credit. I am excited to see what Luxxscape has in store for not only me, but, for US!
