Meet Shari Perkins | Digital Creator • Host • Youtuber

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shari Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shari, where are your from? We’d love to hear about how your background has played a role in who you are today?
I’m born and raised in Mississippi, where community, faith, and perseverance were at the heart of everything. Growing up in the South taught me the value of showing up fully—whether it was for your family, your goals, or your dreams. I was surrounded by strong, nurturing women who knew how to make something out of nothing and still carry themselves with grace. They instilled in me a deep sense of resilience, creativity, and the importance of staying true to who you are.
At 21, I made the bold move to Atlanta in search of more—more opportunity, more freedom to create, and more room to grow. That transition was pivotal. Atlanta challenged me, inspired me, and ultimately gave me the space to step into the woman I was becoming. It’s where I found my voice as a content creator, built my brand, and started turning vision into reality.
Mississippi gave me my foundation—my heart, my hustle, and my values. Atlanta gave me my wings. And together, those two places have shaped not just who I am, but how I lead, create, and show up for others every single day.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is rooted in storytelling—through video, editing, and photography. What I create is more than just content; it’s about capturing emotion, movement, and energy in a way that tells a full story without needing a single word. Whether I’m shooting a branded campaign, capturing lifestyle moments, or creating cinematic travel content, I strive to make every frame intentional and every second of video feel like an experience.
What sets me apart is my eye for detail and my ability to turn everyday moments into something magical. I don’t just show up with a camera—I show up with a vision. From how I frame a shot to how I piece together clips in post-production, I think about the feeling I want the viewer to walk away with. I blend my creative direction, editing skills, and photography background into a seamless, elevated brand that’s both authentic and aspirational.
Getting to this point hasn’t been easy. I didn’t have a roadmap or formal training. I started with what I had—a phone, a passion, and a lot of late nights spent learning editing software and studying visual storytelling. There were plenty of moments I felt overlooked or underestimated, but I stayed consistent, leaned into my creativity, and kept evolving. Each challenge made me sharper. Each “no” made me work harder.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is to stop waiting for perfection and just start. Progress is always better than perfect. I’ve also learned the power of community, of staying true to your vision, and of believing in your unique lane—even when it doesn’t look like anyone else’s.
What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that everything I create comes from a real place. It’s built on heart, hustle, and the belief that visual storytelling has the power to connect people, spark emotion, and shift perspective. My work is for the dreamers, the go-getters, the creators—and anyone who believes their story deserves to be seen and felt.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting, just know we’re doing it right. I’m all about mixing a little luxury with a lot of fun—so the whole week would be a blend of photo-worthy moments, good food, a touch of glam, and those lowkey hidden gems that make a trip unforgettable.
We’d definitely start with brunch—because you can’t experience the city without a solid mimosa situation. Places like Toast on Lenox or The Real Milk & Honey never miss with the vibes or the plates. Then maybe wander through Ponce City Market for shopping, rooftop views, and cute content moments. I live for a backdrop that’s doing the most with minimal effort!
We’d check out a few museums or pop-up exhibits—maybe the High Museum or something more offbeat like an immersive art experience or candle-making workshop (because who doesn’t love a custom souvenir?). And if we’re in a party mood, we’re hitting up a rooftop bar or lounge with a view—somewhere we can be cute, sip cocktails, and dance a little when the DJ gets it right.
A self-care day is a must—facials, massages, or even a spa day at Massage Heights or a local luxury hotel. And of course, I’d have my camera out capturing all the behind-the-scenes magic. I love turning moments into memories with a little video montage or photo series. It’s just who I am at this point.
We’d mix in some chill time too—maybe grab coffee and people-watch, do a sunset stroll, or have a movie night in with snacks and a DIY content shoot for fun. It’s not always about going out—it’s about curating the vibe.
The best part about showing someone around is watching them fall in love with the places, food, and people you already adore. And when they leave with a camera roll full of memories and a heart full of good energy—that’s when I know I did my job right.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Oh, absolutely—no success story is ever a solo act, and mine is no different. There are so many people and moments that helped shape the path I’m walking today. First and foremost, I have to give a huge shoutout to my mom. She’s the blueprint for everything I know about strength, sacrifice, and showing up with grace even when life gets heavy. Watching her navigate life with faith and determination gave me the courage to believe I could do the same.
I also want to recognize my close circle of friends, family and fellow creatives who have been my cheerleaders and collaborators. Entrepreneurship and content creation can feel like a lonely journey at times, but having a tribe that really sees you, who pours into you, shows up for the events and challenges you to keep growing—that’s priceless.
A special shoutout goes to Content Creation Girlies, the agency I’ve been a part of for over a year now. Being part of this community has not only connected me with incredible women in the creator space, but it’s also opened doors to brand deals and opportunities I once only dreamed about. It’s been such a game-changer to be part of a space that prioritizes collaboration over competition, and genuinely wants to see everyone win.
And of course, I have to give credit to the Bible—my constant source of guidance, peace, and strength. It’s more than just scripture for me; it’s been my anchor through uncertainty, my reminder of purpose, and the foundation that keeps me centered. Whenever I feel overwhelmed or unsure, I turn to it and always find exactly what I need to keep going.
Every part of my journey has been filled with the love, guidance, and support of others, and I carry their energy with me in everything I do. My story is mine, but it’s built on the love, light, and faith of so many others—and for that, I’m forever grateful.
