We had the good fortune of connecting with Shaquana Miles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shaquana, what do you want people to remember about you?
I would like my legacy to point straight to God. Every decision I’ve made concerning being an entrepreneur was not of my own doing, but out of obedience to what the Lord told me to do. So if there is any legacy or level of success as a result of those decisions, it should all bring glory to the Lord. I want people to see what life I’ve lived, the good and bad of it, and say, “Wow, God is real. He loves us well. He is near. He knows best. He gives us His best, and living a life of active faith brings eternal rewards.”

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The biggest lesson that I’ve learned so far is that I’m only going as far as I believe that I can go. If my level of faith, and my creativity, and my imagination is capped, then my success will be capped as well. One of the hardest and first things that I had to do upon deciding to intentionally pursue music, was to actually see myself as an musician and entrepreneur. I had always seen myself as someone who just flows into the background, but once I came into agreement with how the Lord saw me, then I was able to take that cap off of myself and push through and try things that I have never tried before.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m all for attractions, so if my best friend was coming into town then we are hitting the most attractions we can. Six flags is a must, along with the Georgia Aquarium. We would also hit the MLK Historical Park and the Civil Rights Museum as some point throughout the week.

For eating and drinking/going out, I would HAVE to take my best friend to The BQE Restaurant and Lounge for obvious reasons. The place is a vibe, and I’ve appreciated every experience that I have had there. Also, for brunch, we’d head over to 10th & Piedmont to grab chicken and waffles and mimosas!!!!!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Without any shadow of doubt, I would have to dedicate this shoutout to my family.

My parents, (Carl and Gennie,) two sisters, (Angel and Carlenna,) and best friend, (Alisia) have been my biggest supporters as I walked this journey through entrepreneurship and faith. They have made sacrifices with me. They have kept me lifted in prayer. They have poured into me and believed in the vision that the Lord showed me. They even help to bear my growing pains a lot of the times. So, I cannot thank them enough, and I do not know how far I would be without them. They are literally my biggest fans.
