We had the good fortune of connecting with Shantise Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shantise, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Shantise Michelle LLC came into play when I moved on from being a full time assistant to my aunt who’s also a hairstylist. I no longer wanted to just be an assistant. I wanted to become a stylist as well. I love everything about hair, ive tried every style and always fell in love with hair extensions. So I decided that being an Extensions Specialist was the best route for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
Shantise Michelle LlC also has another branch, Shantise Michelle Cranial Prosthesis which is geared to providing custom wigs for anyone dealing with hair loss due to medical reasonings. I got to where I am by caring! I care that the best wig units are not provided by vendors for people dealing with these issues to help overcome the stress that hair loss puts on an individual that most people have no clue about. I also got so far with knowledge and continued education. I love to take classes about what’s trending or just to freshen up my skills that I already have. Nothing ive encountered was easy but my passion for hair in its entirety helps keep me going. What sets me apart from others is my drive, my goals to be better and my knowledge that ive gained from school, life and continued education. I’m most proud of my success thus far!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Im a party girl! So I would definitely take them to Neptunes Bar & Grill downtown Newark for a nice Happy Hour vibe! They have amazing drinks, the food is delicious (courtesy of my little brother) and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. My favorite dining place is River and Rails in Cranford NJ, they serve Mexican food. I know a lot of promoters so I would make sure my friend have a great time in VIP. I would definitely have them come visit the suite I work on to meet my amazing co-workers! It’s so much to do I would take hours naming every place but I would definitely make sure my friend gets to visit them all!
