We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannyn Stallworth and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shannyn, why did you pursue a creative career?
From a young age, I discovered the profound impact that creative outlets can have on one’s life. Immersing myself in singing and playing the piano from an early age, I found that these artistic expressions provided a sanctuary during challenging times. Whenever I faced difficulties, I could always rely on my creativity to find solace and clarity. Today, while I continue my journey to find my ikigai—the reason for being—I am certain that creativity will remain at the heart of my pursuit. It is not merely a hobby, but an integral part of who I am and how I navigate the world.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I believe what sets me apart as an artist is my relatability. I’m not rich or famous—I’m a 23-year-old single mom striving to find healing and peace through art, something I believe many people can resonate with. I’m particularly excited about helping my kids discover their creative outlets and supporting them every step of the way.

My professional journey has been built on consistency, dedication, and an unwavering belief in my abilities. It has been far from easy; every day presents new challenges. However, the satisfaction of creating something beautiful makes the struggle worthwhile. Overcoming challenges is a continuous process. As a young single mother, it often feels overwhelming, but listening to my body and seeking medical help when needed has significantly improved my life. There is often a stigma around getting diagnosed and taking medication, but I’ve learned that doing what’s best for your well-being is essential, regardless of others’ perceptions.

What I want the world to know about me, my brand, and my story is that it’s all about healing. I am someone who constantly seeks healing and encourages others to do the same, so that we might all find peace and happiness. My vision is to inspire happiness through creativity, peace through prosperity, and love through a connection with nature.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d make sure they experienced the best our area has to offer, starting with nature’s wonders. Our itinerary would be filled with visits to the most beautiful bodies of water, including serene waterfalls, exciting water tubing spots, and fun-filled water parks.

For dining, I’d take them to some of my favorite restaurants: SriThai for exquisite Thai cuisine, Fumi for delicious sushi and Japanese dishes, and Ionies Caribbean Kitchen for a taste of the Caribbean.

The most interesting experiences often come from unexpected adventures. We’d go horseback riding through the forest, swim under a picturesque waterfall, and find a beautiful spot to create music together.

In my view, the best places in the South aren’t the clubs or bars, but the great outdoors. Anything outdoors—whether it’s hiking, picnicking, or simply exploring—promises a grand time and unforgettable memories.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mom and my children. My kids inspire me every day, giving me the dedication and unwavering mental fortitude to pursue my dreams. Their presence in my life is a constant source of motivation. My mom has been a cornerstone of my journey, offering support when I needed it the most. Despite our ups and downs, I owe much of my success to her. One day, I hope to fully express the depth of my gratitude for her unwavering support and love.
