Meet Shannon Coppage | Artist & Marketing Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shannon Coppage and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shannon, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I’ve gravitated towards creating my entire life. I also was always a dedicated student, so when I discovered the Industrial Design program at Georgia Tech, I was thrilled to find a path that would play to my strengths – both the creative and analytical sides of my brain. When I was learning about this program, it described the ideal candidate as part artist, part engineer, and part entrepreneur — this really spoke to me!
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am currently leading marketing for small businesses and continuing to paint in my free time. I just opened The Studio at Candler Park right around the corner from our house, which feels like a lifetime of creative ideas all coming to life in one little space. In this new remote-work world we live in, the studio is where I spend my days now, and it also doubles as a storefront where you can buy my art and other fun things from brands I admire. The light-filled space also serves as a gathering place for our neighborhood, including an option to rent it out for photo shoots or private events. We’re open weekdays 10-5, so please stop by if you’re in Candler Park!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is getting more & more bike-friendly, so I would suggest a bike tour with plenty of stops for food & drink along the way! If you start in Piedmont Park, you can take the Beltline to Inman Park, ride through Little 5 Points via Euclid Ave which then turns into McLendon Ave, taking you into Candler Park (and right by The Studio). Hang a left on Clifton to bike past the Druid Hills Golf Club and admire incredible homes along the way to Emory Village. If you bike this route, you will have the opportunity to enjoy SO MANY incredible restaurants and beautiful moments throughout the city!
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
All credit goes to my mom for always encouraging me to follow my passions & reminding me that I’m capable of doing anything I set my mind to.
