We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanita Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanita, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
When starting my business my thought process was how can my business help people, help the world and make a difference. I wanted to impact the world and set an example for anyone interested in joining the entertainment business with little to no experience. Before starting my business I came across a few people that was struggling with their self-esteem, self-confidence and self-worth. After working with them those inequalities were boosted and they were happy with who they are. It felt good to be able to help someone. I also helped people discover their true talent and hidden talent. They were grateful and were able to go to the next level in life loving themselves. One piece of conventional advice that I disagree with is that if you look good you feel good. A person may look good to someone else but may not feel they look good to themselves. It is important to find the confidence within, then you can appreciate that advice. A person can see for themselves when they look in the mirror that they look good which in turn will make them feel good. I have realized that in life there are risks involved with every business and in everything you do. It is important to think about your decisions before they are made and always enter in to a situation with the consequences that may come along with it. It is important to always be mindful of the risks and people that make the risks greater. That is what I think about risks. The most valuable habit that has helped me to succeed is reading and learning on a regular basis. I feel that a person can never know too much. Another habit I had to learn is how to deal with people and their different emotions and attitudes. Everyone is different and they think differently. The most important factor behind my success is being consistent. In the process of being consistent I am also prepared. If you do not have organization in your business things will not fall in to place. I am hopeful that people can learn from my guidance and knowledge and grow in the process. It is important to have balance in your but life can also hit you where it hurts. Life has a lot of unexpected challenges that we have to deal with. While growing my brand I was faced with a serious health issue. It hindered my progress and caused me to take time off and get healthy. I am also a mother of four kids which is a job in itself. So balance is a much needed way of life. When my daughter was in middle school she was very shy. She didn’t do a lot of talking so if something was bothering her I wouldn’t know it unless I badgered her. I found out that she wasn’t fully happy with her looks and who she was as a person. I knew that kids go through different stages in life with their looks, friends, peer pressure and much more. I knew she also needed my help as her mother. So I decided to do research on modeling. I wanted modeling to boost her self esteem and to show her how beautiful she is. I started working with a modeling company to get her photos done and for a little guidance but later realized I had to do this on my own. I created her a website and started advertising on my social media. She became a hot commodity and she loved modeling. Her self esteem shot through the roof and she became a happier person. While watching her model I noticed that some days she wasn’t up to working but once she got there she was amazing. She was naturally talented and that is where the name came from. My clothing brand was created through a dream. I was dreaming one night and the name Dice Life Clothing came to me. I wanted to create a line that represented life. We all go through things in life and different issues are presented in our life so we have to role the dice of life. Under my clothing life we offer t-shirts, leggings, hoodies, tank tops, and dresses. We have a relaxed fit clothing line. Our line is all over the US and we are working on expanding now. We are focused on growing. I chose both creative careers because by watching models create their view and by researching different styles. They were very creative and stylish and I knew I had a creative side to me as well. I am truly inspired by determination and the will to be successful and devoted. If a person is determined they can do anything. If interested in becoming a model, actor or artist with NTM Group email ntmanagementgroup@gmail.com for more info. What should our readers know about your business?
What sets NTM Group aside from other businesses is how we find the beauty in anyone. We don’t have a certain look or style. We find the look and style within the person. Our clothing line is different from other lines because we have a very unique logo and style.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would take my best friend to the Atlanta Zoo, Museum and Six Flags over Georgia. I would give her a variety of things to do.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my story to my children Jazzmen, Za’ria, Hajj and O’rius for always motivating and working hard on their goals as well.
