We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanicia Hill and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shanicia, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my writing lab is simply the need and want to help others. Yes of course, I do get paid for the services I provide —but honestly there’s nothing more that I love than helping others reach their goals, achieve new things, and simply win.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business is Shanicia’s Writing Lab. My writing lab is catered to the customer whom may need assistance with revamping their resume to needing grant writing to someone whom simply needs assistance with school course writing. I started this business after giving up on my dreams of being a full-time writer. I knew I always wanted to be a writer since I was a child, and after graduating from Georgia State University with a Communications and Writing Degree, I noticed that would not pay the bills. After changing career paths, the urge to want to write didn’t stop. So, I decided to use my talents to help others. I get a joy out of helping others and seeing them exceed in whatever they are achieving but also doing what I love as well—writing. I want the world to know that my little writing lab may be small but it helps so many and to never be afraid to reach out to me! I treat everyone equally and like I always say, I just want us all to WIN!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Atlanta so much, I am born and raised (shoutout to the Westside) and you don’t get that too much anymore. I have a list of favorite places but when it comes to brunch you can’t go wrong with Homegrown or Atlanta Breakfast Club. If you haven’t tried the two, what are you waiting for!?

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout each and every customer the writing lab has had, without their support and recommendations I wouldn’t be where I am today! My customers are everything!
