We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanice Baum-garrett and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanice, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea for my business when I was pregnant with my daughter . I named my business after her because she is the reason why I am so motivated to create and want to do better.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started my business in 2017 it started I’m me wanting to make safe products for my daughter . Eventually , I started selling my first product ( body butters) to family and friends. Over the years it has grown to more products and so many more people . Having a business isn’t easy lots of trial and error in every part of the process. A lesson I learned is to be patient with myself and my journey. Everyday I am closer to who and where I want to be . At times it can be discouraging and you want to quit. I always tell myself I didn’t get this far to give up .
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Since moving to NC our favorite place to visit for food is Charlotte great place to try new foods. Tik tok is a great place to find new foods to try. Kensli enjoys the park and library that we visit every weekend.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Special shout-out to everyone who has supported us so far. Kind words, purchases, shares have really helped us grow so much .
I would love to shout-out my family, friends , and supporters who have supported us throughout the years .
