We had the good fortune of connecting with Shania Robinson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shania, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always had this God given inventive spirit. I’m someone who finds expression through working with my hands and creating new things. I find it beneficial to my mental and physical health, so with my business being an extension of that, it came naturally.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I craft natural cleansers, exfoliants, balms, herbal infusions for those that suffer from skin sensitivities and also those that desire true holistic alternatives. My art is inspired by a deep desire to create a safe space for those who are navigating through mental and physical health conditions. It wasn’t until I began struggling with anxiety and bouts of low self-esteem from my own skin sensitivities that I discovered I needed to do something. And through my discovery to heal myself, I felt that others could benefit from what I created. None of this was or is ever easy. There are days where I don’t feel inspired to create. There are days when I want to quit altogether but I work through those moments and days. I’ve learned that authenticity, integrity, connection, and honesty has been key in what I feel to be my success and what I believe, sets me apart from others.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Firstly, shoutout to God and his grace, I am most grateful for that! My family has always hyped me up, even when I downplay my capabilities, they continue to pour into me, so shoutout to them. Shoutout to my little brother’s (Isaiah and Israel) for loving me unconditionally and being my drive. I’d also like to shoutout my grandmother (Marie) and late great grandmother (Martha) for being present throughout many seasons. From the beginning they both cheered me on and uplifted me even in the midst of adversity. Always enlisting themselves to help make products and support me in whatever way they could. I am so blessed to experience all of their love and contributions to my story. Lastly, I want to shout out every artist, herbal enthusiast, crafter, d.i.y’r and all the above for creating spaces, inspiration and sharing their knowledge for people like me to flourish.
