Meet Shanell Palmer | CEO/ Recovery Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanell Palmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shanell, every day, we about how much execution matters, but we think ideas matter as well. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
Back in 2020 my best friend Felisha who is our Director of Operations and I (Shanell) traveled to Miami for me to undergo Cosmetic Surgery. We were both unfamiliar with what the recovery process would look like. We booked a recovery house stay, so they could assist me and teach Felisha how to take care of me once our stay with them was over. It was through that horrible encounter, we saw there was a need for a brand like ours, a brand that put our guest first making sure they have a safe recovery experience in a peaceful environment. We got together my cousin Veronica (we love to call her Dr. V) who was already experienced and licensed, she came on as our Medical Director to ensure we were able to assist our guest in a secure manner. Between the three of us we created a system and a plan that made sure every guest we service would be taken care of and most importantly make it back home to their loved ones without harm due to our assistance . We didn’t come up with the concept but the unpleasant occurrence sparked our desire to be apart of the community and change the game in the Post-op Cosmetic industry.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We are Pure Serene Lifestyle & Wellness, we provide Post-op Recovery assistance to ALL individuals undergoing Cosmetic surgery procedures, in areas such as south Florida (Miami/Fort Lauderdale) Texas, Georgia and North Carolina. Private Care Assistance is the ultimate luxury to invest in when recovering from any cosmetic proceedure. Our guest are able to choose where they desire to heal, whether it be their own home, hotel or airbnb. Our services are customized to accommodate every need our guest may have. What excites us about what we do is getting the call from our guest saying they made it home safe or their loved one reaching out to us to say thank you for all we have done. Its extremely important to us that we build a relationship with our guest prior to them having surgery, so that when it time for us to assist in their healing they are comfortable and feel safe with following our guidance. Its so cliche but I feel like blood sweat and tears really got us where we are today mixed with God’s grace because we are in an industry that so many people are tapping into, doing exactly what we are doing. The biggest challenge for us was just finding our own lane, once we were able to understand who our target audience a lot of things shifted and opportunities started to present themselves. God’s timing is the best! The biggest lesson we have learned was without Discipline and Consistency your brand will struggle. If we could let the world know anything about who we are as a brand, it’s that we operate with PURE intentions we want the best for our guest and we have no problem going the extra mile to make sure best is what they receive when booking with us. Our dream started off with a bad experience but we use that experience daily to make sure we execute our services in a way that allows us to not only be looked at as care givers but also as advocates to our guest, assisting them with recovery but also having their backs and being a voice for them when. needed.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We service a lot of our guest in the south Florida area, an area that is some what foreign to us but if we had to entertain our folks we would definitely hit places like Nikki Beach for that upscale chic beachfront vibe, we would most certainly hit the Fontaine Bleau for a full spa day (IYKYK). I love authentic cuban food especially coffee so you can find us in little Havana! My friends aren’t the type to want to go out and do things everyday on their vacation so we would of course we go grocery shopping to cook and chill poolside (we love a good airbnb). Visiting Botanical Gardens is something we find special as well. We’re on the mature Side of life (OLD) so nightlife would depend on which night we rock, paper, scissor! LIV on Sunday is really a thing, a true experince if done right. Honestly Fort Lauderdale is really slept on when it comes to vibes, walking downtown especially at night is really peaceful, it’s not as hyped as Miami it’s more of a laid back luxury feel! we absolutely love South Florida culture.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Big Shoutout to GOD without him we are nothing. We are thankful for our family and friends who support us daily. We would like to give a huge shoutout to Jodie Brim, CEO of Jodie Brim Creative, we met her at a photoshoot a couple of years ago when our business was just an idea. She took us under her wing and continues to help shape and guide our brand, we are beyond grateful that she speaks our name in rooms we haven’t yet been in. Also we want to Shoutout Amy Jah, CEO of Sugar Mamas Movement an organization that was created as a support for like hearted women who want to grow into the Bosses we dream nightly of becoming. Also Nakita Robbins with Blushing Dolls Concierge for always being of support to us. Last but certainly not least we would love to shout Natasha Turner of Med Miami Business helping us get established in the industry by providing us with knowledge and internship opportunities. We are beyond grateful of the love shown to us.
