We had the good fortune of connecting with Shanekia Parker Rash and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shanekia, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Generations!

We think about the here and now, but never the generations to come. My process was at first to only be a WORKER, but fate chose something different for me. So I started with generations in mind. Not just my children or my childrens, children but the generations of female entrepreneurs that will come after me. Those who will need a road map. It’s about the generations for me.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My first stop would be to eat. I’m a foodie (the scale confirms this, lol). Cracker Barrel for breakfast; dining here is like getting a home-cooked meal every time. For activities, I would take them to cave city for the fruit or Cabot to the Holland Bottom farm. As a graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, Conway makes my heart flutter. It’s here that we would visit the fudge factory and Mikes’ place. Mikes place has some of the best food with the freshest ingredients. The service is a bonus.

I would not allow my friend to leave without visiting our downtown area, where the nights are long and the fun is endless. Here we have bars, clubs, and the ability to stroll in the night air with the music in the background.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God is my source! I never deny it, and those who know me know he is the Head of my business. My husband and kids are the fuel to the fire. My husband is my biggest supporter, my best friend, and he holds me accountable for my wins and losses.
