We had the good fortune of connecting with Shane King and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shane, what do you attribute your success to?
It’s definitely the team that we’ve built up over the years (since 1999) and our commitment to constantly evolve what we do and the clients that we’ve been able to bring along the journey. When we started we couldn’t have ever imagined that we would be doing great things for organizations like Shaw Floors, The Home Depot, TOTO USA, Porsche and Goodwill. And we’ve had to adapt to many different (changing) time periods in the marketplace. Persistence and innovation have definitely been at the center of keeping our brand relevant in terms of digital media & marketing.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
There have always been challenges. But the creative aspects of what we do drive me every day. Each project / initiative offers its own unique dynamic. I’ve always loved the visual side of what we do and I really enjoy helping clients tell their own stories in an engaging way. We’ve been able to do that on both the web design & development side as well as through video production and new, exciting ways associated with immersive media (AR/VR/360 video). If I say what sets us apart, it’s truly our dedication to offer each client something exciting and different, and just as important, our ability to deliver on that consistently over the course of time. We can’t (and won’t) ever stay static in our approach to creating experiences and content.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We started the business down in the Inman Park area and use to spend a lot of time at Rathbuns. That area has really exploded over the last decade. Then we had the business in Buckhead… so there was always somewhere great to host clients coming into town. Personally I live (and always have) outside of downtown, in the north part of Georgia. So when we have friends visiting or just want to chill out on the weekend we are usually visiting some of the local wineries, breweries and many of the mixed-use developments like Avalon & Halcyon. Being a part of so many different areas of growth in and around town has been a lot of fun.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would say my brother (and co-founder / business partner) Eric King. We operate in completely different areas. He has helped make sure the business operations stay in-check (financial, etc.), which have allowed me to focus in on clients & business development over the years. If you’re going to grow a successful business (especially with a family member), each person has to pull their own weight (through the good & bad), and each has to have a different area of expertise (and mutual trust & respect) for what the other brings to the table on a daily basis. Without that three squared would have never moved off of the ground. Crazy that it’s been almost 25 years now…
