We had the good fortune of connecting with Shan & Christian and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Shan &, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
We started in 2019 but officially launched during the pandemic in 2020. We knew we wanted to start a business as a way to secure a better future for our family but we struggled with coming up with a business idea. After brainstorming, the obvious thing to do was solve our own problems. One of our children suffered with eczema since he was a few months old. It was this issue that we were already passionate about that helped bloom our beautiful business today. We have not only started a legacy for our children to enjoy, we are also helping so many families, just like ours, have better skin.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Many more people are choosing to go the natural route with skin care. We are excited to be a part of everyone’s journey. Our heart for getting our customers amazing results continue to drive us. We have experienced the stress that comes with unhealthy skin, so we are happy to change others’ lives, one product at a time. When you shop with us, you can be confident that we have mixed your body butter with love and positivity! With us living in two different states, we have hit our fair share of bumps in the road. It is true, Rome was not built in a day, and neither was LuGenereux! LOL Even though we had obstacles, our vision kept us going. We want to build generational wealth and change people’s lives. We are doing just that! We both have learned the importance of perseverance, having a solid foundation in faith, and a determination to achieve our goals.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Shan and I live in different states. So, we chose to do both cities we live in: Evansville, Indiana and Greenville, South Carolina! Christian says: If visiting Evansville, we will begin the week with church-online, in-person, whichever you prefer. However, that is a non-negotiable. LOL After that, its free game! We will go to a local favorite, Comfort by the Cross-Eyed Cricket. Here you will find southern comfort food in the heart of the city. For an evening activity, we visit Mo’s House. We are going to assume this is the second Sunday in the month because some of the city’s most talented musicians will be playing live Jazz. It is a nice, chill vibe. Have a glass of water or a glass of wine, but either way, you will surely enjoy yourself. We will also make time to walk by the river. On a nice day, the Ohio River can be rather relaxing. You can’t come to the city without visiting Angelo’s. This is the closest you will get to true Italian around these parts. Since we are downtown at Angelo’s, we should go ahead and walk down Main St. and visit all the cool local shops. You will see everything from interior decorating to handmade candles. The downtown culture is very inviting! When I am not searching for a great place to eat, I turn into a nerd and visit the museum. The Planetarium is my favorite part. You will also get to learn about all the quirky things you didn’t know about the city. Shan says: In Greenville, the first stop, is downtown. We will start with Mice on Main. This will allow you to roam downtown, learn about the city, and find cool spots you wouldn’t normally find. This is a cool scavenger hunt that will also double as a fun activity. A bike ride on the Swamp Rabbit Trail is also a fun way to get out and have fun! We are not too fancy but the Cheesecake Factory is a definite favorite in the city. We can’t let you come without experiencing the night life. DT’s Tavern is a bar that you would visit if you want to start the weekend with dancing, drinks, and good music. If you want to wind down before your trip back home, we will visit Ink & Ivy for a nice dinner and a glass of wine. Before you get on the highway home, we will stop at Coffee Underground for a great kickstart for your trip!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We do want to recognize family and friends who were willing to try our product and give feedback. And I think we actually owe recognition to each other. This hasn’t been as cut and dry as we may have anticipated; and on top of that we live in two different states. However, we’ve persevered and continue to do so.
