We had the good fortune of connecting with Shametra Rozier and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Shametra, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business was basically, being able to have more time with my children. Being able to leave something behind that would be beneficial to them and create generational wealth. I figured if you invest time into working for other companies and bringing their vision to life, why not invest those same years, hard work and dedication into your own. The lord said, faith without works is dead. Trust God and the rest will follow. I now have over 30 contracts providing DOT as well as Non DOT Drug and Alcohol screenings. You can literally receive your results same day for some of our Drug tests. DNA Testing is also offered here at Journi2Results.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting this journey of being an entrepreneur has been nothing short of amazing. It wasn’t easy and at times, I felt like throwing in the towel but I can say even with bumps in the road, I do not regret the decisions I’ve made thus far. Life is a funny thing; we never know what we’re getting. We never know the hand we are dealt until the cards are laid out on the table, but does that define who we are or who we will become? of course not! life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, it’s the moments that take your breath away and for this reason, I can truly say, I feel as though I am walking into my destiny!

Going through life not knowing your purpose or what you are put on this earth to do can be frustrating. It’s like, you’re existing and not living. You have all this greatness bottled up inside, but you don’t know exactly what to do with it. The thing that worked for me, was creating a vision board to make it plain! seeing your goals every day and not just allowing it to continue being a thought in your mind. Having some sort of support system, even if it’s just one person. Always remembering, it’s okay to make mistakes because those mistakes build character.

Last but certainly not least, dream big! manifest it! and watch how everything unfolds in front of your eyes. DON’T EVER BE AFRAID TO START OVER!

It doesn’t matter what everyone else THINKS , the only thing that matters is what YOU THINK.. build your dream, invest in it, believe it, and watch it grow!

The goal in life is to be the best version of YOU, not who others think you should be!

I’ve built a small business not only providing great service, but we insist on providing a family-driven atmosphere that utilizes the strong personal connection each employee has to our clients by treating them like family. Had I allowed those doubts and fears to surface, this would have never happened.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Andretti’s, definitely! It’s has everything, food fun, go carts, lol. Hey, we all are kids at heart!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to take a moment to express how grateful and blessed I am in life and my business, looking back from where everything started, I wouldn’t have ever imagined I’ll be where I am currently. My children, have been my biggest motivation, with all their love and support, encouraging me and always saying how proud they are of me with taking the risk to be a business owner. My dad, Randy Oneal, has been a huge supporter from the beginning, when things were in the building stage, he would tell me to stick with it and not to throw in the towel and anything that I needed him to invest in(buy)he never hesitated. My Aunt Angenita Smith and my sister Shantrell Cross, for always keeping me grounded and My two favorite Uncles, Cutreal Phillips, just for being him and Uncle Shawnreno Ricks, who passed last year, he was a big light in my life and always encouraged me throughout everything no matter what it was. My mom, Winifer Moss and My stepdad Tracey Moss, last but definitely not least, you’ve taught me to be the strong woman I am today. Thank you all for being a major part of it all!
