We had the good fortune of connecting with SHAKITA HAYWOOD and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi SHAKITA, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
For me, customer service and communication are key. As a business owner or even as an employee, you will not always get it “right” with every client and that’s okay but what’s not okay is not making it right. It’s one thing to get a new customer, it’s another thing to keep or retain a customer. How you treat people who decide to do business with you can really be the make or break factor for the success of your business.

What should our readers know about your business?
My brand/ business is all about crafting eclectic jewelry, primarily earrings that make people smile when they wear them! As the sole designer, it feels amazing to give someone something so small but so impactful in regards to their sense of style. Currently I am still a novice in terms of my brand building but the reputation I am creating is built on great customer service and one of a kind quality crafts that get people excited! The hardest thing so far has been being patient with the process and balancing my family priorities along with a full time job While all trying to build my brand from scratch. I have made it where I am currently because I have a phenomenal support system and am learning to pace myself with my goals. What I want the world to know about me is that I sincerely care about your experience with Me and my product. I am motivated by my family and always strive to be a little light in someone’s day!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Some of my favorite activities in Atl are the sporting events, festivals, and nice parks on Sunday! If showing a friend around, I would aim for a hawks or falcons game, a festival, and a concert with a nice brunch, balcony restaurant.  And we can’t forget about Ponce city market window shopping and the New Black Wall Street on the Eastside of Atlanta.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Husband Brandon and my mom, without their support and hands on help, there is no way I could pursue my vision.
