We had the good fortune of connecting with Sha and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sha, how has your work-life balance changed over time?
I would say as my business grows, my life gets more hectic. I’m going to be honest, running a business means you will have no time for yourself. It’s hard to balance out my personal life with work, When work is my life. Only the real entrepreneurs will understand. I’m always on the go and working. I’m now on my second business, meaning I have no free time. I’m also one of those business owners who likes to play every role. I know that balance is really important, but I also know that taking risk, and sacrifices is just as important to get me where I want to be in life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m so proud of the growth of my business. Every month my business is growing and expanding. I started my hair brand in 2017 and it took a lot of hard work and dedication. I had to stay consistent and keep going. My journey wasn’t easy at all. Starting and running a business is one of the hardest things I ever had to do. I personally never had a mentor or anyone show me what running a business was. I just jumped in the field and started learning from lessons and experiences. The reason why I am here today is because I put my all into something that I believed in, and I never gave up. I overcame a lot. There’s days you will see no income, and business must continue. Im 100% all in when it comes to my brand, I do everything I do promotion, content, shipping, inventory, graphic designer, customer service. This industry comes with a lot and you just have to be built for it. I had this vision in my head for years before I finally started my brand. I would say that’s it’s very different from other hair companies and stands out. We’re not just selling hair we’re selling a lifestyle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite thing to do of all times in Atlanta, is to shop. I love the mall and almost every occasion in my life, the mall is needed! I love breakfast food I can eat it all day. My favorite breakfast spots is gut busters, thumbs up, and for dinner I love roc south. I’m a real soul food kind of girl. In my chill time I like to go to the movies IPIC is my favorite theatre. I like to get massages and eat good.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and my team keeps me going. Everything that I do is for my family, I want to be able to take care of them, and have generational wealth. My team is the absolute best, They push me to be the best version of myself and I don’t know where I would be with out them.
