Meet Sean Williams | Musician & Recording Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sean, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
I’m at my happiest when I’m creating. As a musician, there is nothing that gets me more excited than building a song from scratch. When I’m writing or recording, time ceases to exist for me. 6 hours will feel like 30 minutes. Taking existing influences and building them into something new is really special. Sharing your creation with people who are emotionally touched by your music is the cherry on top.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My father was a full-time musician. I’ve grown up performing. I first performed on stage with my dad when I was two years old. Since then, music was always in my blood. Initially, pursuing music as a full time career didn’t seem like a possibility. I had been convinced by society that it wasn’t sustainable. It wasn’t easy initially, but I have built a solid foundation throughout the years. As cliche as it sounds, if you have a goal, then go for it. It’s worth the risk. Life is too short to being doing something that doesn’t fulfill you. Musically, I feel proud of my ability to blend pop melodies with unique production. To me, there is nothing better than a good pop melody with a sonic atmosphere that takes the song to another level. Creating brings me joy and I hope it brings joy to others.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is filled with so many exciting things to do that I couldn’t limit the list to just one week. There is a unique excitement to the city that I’ve never been able to find anywhere else. There are so many great music venues including the Fox Theatre, the Tabernacle, Variety Playhouse, etc. As for food, a trip to the Varsity is a must. I’m also partial to the burgers at the Vortex. It would be remiss of me to not give a shoutout to places like the Coca-Cola factory, aquarium, and a Braves game at Sun Trust stadium.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I contribute my success to my family, friends, and girlfriend who have been nothing but encouraging in achieving my dream. They were the ones to convince me to do music full-time and I haven’t regretted it for a moment.
