We had the good fortune of connecting with Sean Sheppheard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sean, can you tell us about a book that has had a meaningful impact on you?
One of my favorite recent books is called “How an Economy Grows and Why It Crashes” by Peter Schiff. I really enjoyed the Island Metaphor used in the book to simplify an economy. Schiff breaks down macroeconomic topics such as the role of savings and investment, the impact of debt, and the impact of the money supply on inflation. Even during our current turbulent economic times, this book puts into perspective how the economy works and what factors lead to its prosperity, or its demise. Even though I don’t agree with every point the author makes, I still believe it’s a good perspective to understand for anyone interested in Economics.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’m from Saint Paul, MN, a wonderful city but not a place where many people who like me make it out from. I’m grateful to have grown up in a diverse environment but my upbringing was also marked by significant financial challenges. These experiences instilled in me resilience and a deep understanding of the importance of a healthy relationship with money. My background has been a major influence in my commitment to helping others reach their goals.

My decision to start my own business was driven by my desire to help other small businesses, particularly those owned by minorities and women, to take control of their financial futures. Having worked in various roles within accounting and finance, I recognized a gap in how these businesses were supported and guided through their financial challenges. My goal was to create a firm that not only provides essential Accounting & Finance services but also educates and empowers business owners to make informed decisions.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Everyone who knows me would tell you Yard House is one of my favorite lunch and happy hour spots, since the locations tend to be in local shopping centers there is often other things to do like shopping. This makes it a nice spot for a date or visit with friends.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to recognize my Family, Friends, and Philosophers who have all poured into my over the years. Without the support and love I would not be able to strive for greatness and remain true in all my work.
