Meet Schellie and William Hogan | Creators of Far Out Galaxy: DJ Cuttlefish + Robot Booth

We had the good fortune of connecting with Schellie and William Hogan and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Schellie and William, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
One of the many reasons, perhaps the most important reason, we decided to start our own business was so we could live a life of our own design. We are artists, free spirits, movers and shakers, and working for the man just doesn’t fit that vibe. 😉

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Hi! We’re Schellie and William, the creators of Far Out Galaxy. Far Out Galaxy is a collective of event artists and professionals made up of DJ Cuttlefish, Robot Booth, and Six Hearts Photography.
At the base of our company are two beings that love each other and love what they do. Our Galaxy is built on love – the love of each other, the love of human interaction, the love of parties, and the love of love – and we take so much pride in carrying that love through to every event. We pride ourselves in being unique, in being authentic, in being innovators and creatives, lovers and wild creatures, and in living life fully – all while being professional, kind, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. We’ve built a team of Aliens that are adventurous, spontaneous, and risk takers. They are also calculators, innovators, and futurists. Heck, some of us are even Robots! Together we have big ideas, big dreams, and big hearts. We’re always seeking ways to make the future better – the future of our business, the future of our city, the future of our marriage, the future of music and photography, the future of the Earth, you name it. With a balance, we’ve been able to win over the human race and boy oh boy has it been an adventure. We are so stoked that this universe has aligned itself and given us clients and other industry professionals to work alongside of that pride themselves in the same things.
We began Far Out Galaxy as photographers and photo booth designers back in 2007 – starting with Robot Booth and Six Hearts Photography. We build our own photo booths and code our own software, Robot Booth, for a super unique experience you won’t find elsewhere.
We noticed in the late 2000s that clients began bundling DJ and Photo Booth services together. Since we love music, love people, love to party, and know the event industry, we knew we could create and train a stellar team of DJs. We added DJ Cuttlefish to Far Out Galaxy in 2012. We started with one DJ, introduced to us by a friend, and grew from there. We build our own DJ set ups, find artists and musicians with incredible talent, and train them to be a part of our team. Now we have a team of DJs that are amongst the most requested and respected in the Atlanta industry.
Things we already knew are constantly being proven to us again and again. Be kind, love what you do, and do it well.
We believe in ourselves and we believe in our team. We know we can succeed at anything – we just choose the things we’re passionate about.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Our showroom is right by the beltline so we would start each day there – photos in our Robot Booth paired with a curated playlist by DJ Cuttlefish to set a party mood. Note: our showroom is by appointment only and is only available to visit for potential clients or close friends. Interested in booking Robot Booth and/or DJ Cuttlefish? Call us at 770-876-9248 ext 701 to set up your visit!

– Krog Street Market for Gu’s Dumplings and beer from Hop City
– Shopping in Westside Provisions District
– Kinjo Room in Westside Provisions District

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
“I want to thank me for doing all this hard work. I want to thank me for having no days off. I want to thank me for never quitting. I want to thank me for always being a giver and trying to give more than I receive. I want to thank me for trying to do more rights than wrong. I want to thank me for just being me at all times. Snoop Dogg, you a bad motherf—.”
– Snoop Dogg
Seriously though, we couldn’t do this without each other, without our stellar team, or without incredible clients who have continued to love and support us for well over a decade.
