We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Rose Johnson, BA, CLC, RTTP and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah Rose, how do you think about risk?
Fear is interesting. What purpose does it serve? To keep you safe, comfortable, or something else? When it comes to my own conquering of fear, it has been invaluable to recognize the truth behind fear: it is a feeling. Energy. It is a notification from our body that something meaningful is happening. Is the purpose of fear helpful or harmful? If it keeps you away from something or someone that destroys you, it’s serving its purpose. If it keeps you from pursuing a dream, it is harmful… and you are giving that feeling too much power. You are not your feelings. They do not have power over you unless you give them that power. If you are thinking of taking a risk for your dreams but that risk scares you, I want you to decide: are you fueling this fear or your future? If you can lay that fear out on the table and begin to question it, you instantly have power over the fear. You instantly decide if it is worth it. Then, those risks become paths of action. Then, nothing and no one is stopping you. Embrace the fear. Take the chance.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Being a life coach & hypnotist is absolutely incredible. No two days are the same & no two people are the same. However, we are all connected to one another in our human experiences. Launching my career officially in the midst of Covid was unique, to say the least. We all were affected by this pandemic; however, it was extremely rewarding to become a part of the solution & support my clients every step of the way. I consider my work to be a great privilege. Being involved in the intimate intricacies of people’s lives & vulnerabilities is a position I greatly value and protect. While I help coach others on their lives, my clients truly show me what life is all about. Kindness is never to be underestimated, as is the power of a listening ear. Each story shared is a gift; I’ve laughed with clients, cried, shared in their triumphs, and witnessed incredibly heartwarming growth. Overall, to be deemed worthy of their inner world is a gift I cherish.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
What I love most about Atlanta & the surrounding neighborhoods is the diversity. The cities & their energy are limitless and beautifully interwoven. Of course, you cannot go wrong with iconic city venues, like Tiny Lou’s & the Claremont Hotel. The Masquerade, Terminal West, and the Tabernacle are frequent spots for music lovers, such as myself. For a more low-key vibe, The Music Room brings heady beats and The Bakery brings LGBTQIA+ culture to the stage. In Buckhead, Gypsy Kitchen is my go-to spot for boho glam and good eats. During the day, Marietta’s smattering of Brazilian bakeries never fail, and the Buford Highway Farmers Market is my spot to indulge in my favorite Russian baked goods. Personally, I am an antique fanatic. You can spot me & my uncle treasure hunting at Queen of Hearts and the several other monthly antique marts. I also unleash my inner child at Hobbytown USA. Fernbank Planetarium is a great escape from the summer heat and you can find me sifting through vinyl at 2nd & Charles or other eclectic thrift stores.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I absolutely recognize my team at Attento Counseling & MWEL (Mental Wellness & Emotional Learning). My team’s support, encouragement, & trust have propelled my dreams beyond what I could have ever imagined. Every day I am inspired by the surrounding talent. My team challenges fear by constantly setting goals for innovation that we can all work towards. I am incredibly grateful for Attento & MWEL, and look forward to how we will positively impact our community & beyond, together!
