We had the good fortune of connecting with Savannah Hunter Ashbey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Savannah, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind the success of family salon is our value in customer service. We go above and beyond to cater to every need each client. We are known throughout the entire community by how we treat our clients like our own family.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others in my field is my background in science. I am most proud in the fact that I was able to learn the art and chemistry of color from the ground up and I am most excited to learn more technology in the art and science of hair. It was not easy to get where I am today it was a drastic transition to change careers from a science teacher to being a stylist and manager at a Salon. There was so much information to retain and put into practice but everything paid off and led me where I am today. The biggest lessons and challenges that I have learned over the years mostly occurs when clients attempt to do their hair at home then have their hair corrected at the salon. Special shout-out to Trinity Stippich for testing my skills about three times a year with all the black box dye. What I want the world to know about me and my brand is that the customer is always first and I will do everything i can to make each person look and feel their best. It’s an amazing place to be in my life where my job is to make people feel beautiful.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would love my friends to come by Family Salon to get a fresh cut and blow out before we hit the town! Dinner and dancing is on our agenda for Saturday night!! Nice drive up to Helen to see the sites on Sunday!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
The first shoutout goes to sabra Dupree. Without her I would not be where i am today. I apprenticed under her almost 7 years and she has taught me everything from being a stylist to now managing the salon so thank you so much!

I have enjoined learning this business inside and out! Her mentorship has lead me to wanting my own business one day❤️
