Hi Savanna, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
My favorite affirmation is “I saw things I imagined.” The means to me that the end goals I reach(ed) in life are the things I have manifested and worked for. It can be an imagination to me now but in due time it will be real. I love this affirmation because it encourages me to keeping working and helps me to see my growth.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I run an all natural skin-care business that started from a little idea I had back in High School. My mission is to provide the world with great quality skin care products without breaking the bank. I want my customers have everything they need to feel and look their best through all the latest beauty trends. I like to focus on the common skin issues that people of color deal with such as: hyperpigmentation, eczema, etc. I am most proud of the customers that order more than once, it really reminds me that my products are worth it! I got to where I am today by social promotions and events. I use he promotion tool on instagram to get my brand exposure in other parts of the country. Events such as pop up shops help me bring a good income for my business as well as more brand exposure. I can not stay this process has been easy. It definitely takes consistently and the will power to keep going and/or stay on track. What helps me is thinking of where I want my brand to be and what extra steps I can make to get there. This way I do not have to focus on where it is currently stuck at but where it will progress to. Along the way, I have learned to be confidence in my work. I know the value of my products so there no reason for me to shy away from highlighting them to others. I want the world to know that I understand life can be chaotic that’s why Surface Cosmetics is here when you need a self-care day the most.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First I would suggest for them to stay in the New York Marriott Marquis located in the heart of the city. Some places were would visit are the Highline, Central Park, New York Transit museum, Seaport, and Brooklyn bridge park. Places to eat I would suggest: Negril, catch steak, nenes taqueria, caliente cab, the mean fiddler, and kimoto.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a shoutout to Social Impact 360 (Howard University Chapter) and my close-friends who support me every single time.
