We had the good fortune of connecting with Satarus Stroud and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Satarus, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Choosing God. Choosing God before anything. Choosing to put all the “You Gottas” last. People often say “You gotta” do this, do that, start here, hustle there….I didn’t subscribe. I chose the path that started with God and I didn’t take my foot off the gas unless I was directed to. Can’t ask Jesus to “take the wheel” if you’re not okay with where that takes you!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’ve been in various fields of Multimedia for over 20 years now. It began at 12 when I started writing music, that evolved into a lengthy career in music. From music I entered into Graphic Design and Film. I stepped back to from being an artist to being an owner and loved how business, in general, worked. I’ve since become proficient in many forms of Multimedia including Drone Videography and I’ve even designed clothing.

I’ve always challenged myself to be better. I would look at magazine covers, movies, or music videos and think…”I can do that!” I developed more by seeing artists that were better than I was. It was always ‘healthy competition’ for me. No envy, no emulation, just competition.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I’ve had a few nice adventures around the city, I’m a big fan of The Roof at Ponce City Market. They’ve got a few hidden gems up there!

I’ve recently checked out “The Works” near Chattahoochee Ave. Had a pretty great time hanging out there. I’d highly recommend the Seafood Nachos!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to thank my son, Jaylen. His life changed mine so much! His existence created so many noteworthy alterations in my life. He made me grow up.
