We had the good fortune of connecting with Sasha “Jas” Guy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sasha “Jas”, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
Honestly it’s not balance. When working for yourself you are the assistant, manager, payroll, HR and everything above, unless you hire someone. My balance has changed because I force myself to take time off so I won’t burn out from working so hard.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I got here with patience’s and grace. This has not been an easy journey. I started out traveling to my clients and now I have suite. I over came a lot of challenges by believing in me and putting my all into my business to make it work. I’ve learned to never doubt yourself. I would want the world to know that I am my brand. I am going to make sure you feel amazing coming in and leaving. We are going to have good conversation, share recipes, podcast and movies within the time frame you are there.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would definitely take my friend to the national harbor to enjoy the view and food from either Grace’s or grab a crane cake sandwich at Crab Cake Cafe. We would probably do some shopping at Tanger Outlets. We would go to olde town to The Warehouse food and drinks are amazing. We may go to an museum or walk the board walk at the Waterfront. It’s so many options to choose from.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would love to shout-out all everyone that has booked an alloy and continue to their schedule. I would love to shout-out my family and my friends. Especially my husband who pushes me to take the risk and to be the best version of me at what I do. To all the ladies that I’ve met in school and in the industry to help push me towards this dream.
