We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarvika Saravanan and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarvika, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
From a young age, I was introduced to multiple underdeveloped communities in India, my home country. These areas struggled to stay up to date with the technological changes happening around them. Even as a child, I wondered why these people were not given the same resources as others. Was it that they could not afford technology, or were they not given the same opportunity? I visited India sparsely throughout the years, and I saw little to no effort being made to combat this issue. In the summer of 2023, I decided to take matters into my own hands. Tecbridge was made to raise awareness for the digital divide and raise money to send technology to communities with out technology.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Starting a non=profit organization as a high schooler was the hardest challenge I faced when creating TecBridge, Some people that I wanted to work with did not trust a high school student. This limited the amount of help and guidance I received throughout this project. However, I was able to rely on people who trusted me such as my friends and families. I would like for everyone to know about TecBridge to bring more awareness to the digital divide and donate to this cause for us to send out more technology with the organization that we work with.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family, friends, and the volunteers that support TecBridge and make this non-profit organization possible. When I was doubted by my peers and other people that I reached out for support, they were there to tell me that I had the ability to do this and never doubted me in the process of making TecBridge.
