We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarai Middleton and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarai, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
Don’t give up! Pursue my dreams in the most positive, yet aggressive ways I possibly can. Hard work and dedication will always outweigh talent. Being intelligent with my plans is how I currently succeed in the business world! I learned to be confident when it came to accepting faults and failures, because those things don’t mean it’s the end for me. Nobody is perfect, so the issues will come! However, don’t waste time trying to dwell on these things, accept them, “face the music” and produce my best work outside of the faults and failures. I’ve learned to have a real passion for what I’m doing and the decisions I make in life and business as a whole regardless of financial gain. Business has taught me to take risks, but to calculate my risks before I go for it. On this lifelong journey from my past to my future successes, I believe what has kept me going is the will to be great and not be shy about going after every opportunity that is available to me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Creating one-of-a-kind designs bring me peace. It offers me a place to dwell on the beauty of the world and share it through my eyes with various forms of media. My goal is to captivate my audience and encourage them to feel the magic my artwork is attempting to portray. The road to being successful is challenging where I come from, however, it’s about how you beat the odds set against you. The goal is to persevere through it all! There’s no race to the finish line, so see your dreams through. All of them. Take your time! Manifest your destiny! I’m here because I never gave up on my dream of being an artist. I’ve dreamt of this life since I was a child! It took hard work and patience to get here, but I’ve made it! I made a promise to myself to continue to make my mark as big as possible in the art world. I am currently making all the necessary strides to do just that!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First we would have breakfast at Thumbs Up Diner in Midtown! Best salmon patties I’ve tasted in Atlanta. Then, grab tickets to tour the High Museum of Art in the downtown area. After that we will travel to Atlantic Station for some recreation and leisure. They have a lot of amenities with food and drinks in the neighborhood, such as bowling and a movie theater. Next day, we could spend the day at Ponce City Market and spend the day there enjoying the shopping and good food! Another day would consist of touring the many attractions in downtown Atlanta, such as Piedmont Park, Georgia Aquarium and much more. By the middle of the week, I’d venture out and head to Marietta, where I can enjoy Andretti then head to Marietta Pizza Company in the downtown area! Maybe even visit the Art Museum in Marietta also. There are many trails and hikes to explore, so if nature is your thing, northern Georgia has plenty different options available! Some great places to eat are: Flight Club, TopGolf, Wild Leap Atlanta, Flying Biscuit, Breakfast At Barney’s, Toast on Lenox, Busy Bee and more!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d like to dedicate this article to my late Aunt, Sarah N. McClendon. She encouraged and pushed me to reach every goal I ever thought of. With her passing in January of this year, it’s been a rough time for my family, but very rough for me. I find peace in remembrance of the great advice and encouragement she has given me along my journey in business. I love you, Aunt Sarah! Thanks for being a role model to follow!
