We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarai Blissett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarai, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
To be completely transparent my ability to believe in myself and becoming more consistent has helped me with my success today. From becoming a business owner to beginning to take my role as a content creator more seriously, Consistency is one of the number one things that has helped with my success I’ve learned to trust in myself and push myself no matter what adversity I may face. I’ve also learned to tune out all the outside noise on the path to success there will always be people who feel like they know whats best for you when in reality only you know what you want. Make a plan and work towards it everyday, every second.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a content creator/ entrepreneur I am constantly telling myself to be consistent and stand out. My motto for my brand is “where beauty meets fashion” and my dream is to continue to cultivate a brand that teaches little girls and boys across the world to be themselves in whatever way they feel best suits them. Fashion is a form of self expression and often times we ask our youth to do that but shun them if what they exhibit isn’t conducive to what society deems appropriate. I’ve been asked many times to describe my style and the best word I can come up with is “EDGY”. I don’t fit into any particular aesthetic to be quite frank I am JUST RAI.

I honestly don’t feel like i’ve achieved what I am “most” proud of yet but I do have some amazing achievements. I’m excited to see where my vivid imagination and passion for content creating will take me, the rooms I’m about to enter and the people I’m about to meet, I got to where I am today by taking a chance on myself and being consistent. My journey to where I am today has been nothing short of amazing but far from easy. I’ve always been able to thrive even in adversity because I always saw past my now. “I’d always tell myself where you are now doesn’t define who you are, keep going.”

Along the way I’ve gained so much knowledge. made so many mistakes and learned so many lessons. But a few lessons that shaped who I am today is 1. know your circle and by this I mean yes the saying that goes “show me you friends and i’ll show you your future” is beyond true! Your circle can make or break you want to be an artist, entrepreneur even a doctor you need to surround yourself with like minded people. 2. ” the two most important days in your life, are the day you are born and the day you find out why” -Mark Twain

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First off, I’d have to take them to AD (American Deli) back in the day that was a staple for me I use to be in highschool leave on my lunch break and go to American Deli. 10 Piece Hot w/ lemon pepper sprinkles and a peach – lemonade drink. After we secure the good eats I’d definitely have to take them out to do something fun Puttshack or Painted Pin. I’m literally a really big kid I love mini golf, bowling, arcade games etc. After that I’d want to kick back chill smoke some hookah so for the cultural experience I’d go to Edgewood, Fins & Feathers or even CRU (I told y’all im a east side baby).

Day 2. I’d keep it a little classy brunch at Lily’s in Buckhead , High Muesuem of Art for the art but mostly for the pics y’all know I’m a content creator pics are a must. Possibly ride scooters through the city and I’m thinking Ray’s In The City for dinner. I’d probably get the Shrimp Scampi Linguine just because thats what I had last time and it was literally amazing I’m a seafood person so if its from the water i’ll try it. And we have to get some hookah I am Hide Kitchen in Buckhead for the city vibes.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my mother Janet Steele, without her I honestly don’t think I would’ve made it this far as both an entrepreneur and content creator. My mom came to the U.S. by way of Jamaica in her mid 20’s and has not stopped since she got here. I’ve watched my mother work her entire life to make sure that my brother and I had a good life. My mother is the true definition of what HARDWORK looks like nothing was handed to her and she has always made a way. Janet is a hustler she has taught me that hardwork and determination gets the job done every time, she’s also taught me that if you don’t know the answer find the answer and lastly she’s taught me to value myself and never let anyone take advantage of me.
