We had the good fortune of connecting with Sarah Marske and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sarah, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
At Saramar Group, we believe in the power of brands to change the world for good. And doing good for the world is good for business. Saramar Group is a consulting firm specializing in creating meaningful connection between brands and U.S. Hispanic audiences through purpose-driven brand engagement strategies. Our solutions enable our clients to authentically reach and engage U.S. Hispanic audiences through strategies that drive business growth while creating larger social impact.

Doing business with a higher purpose with an authentic mission to make a meaningful difference in the lives of consumers creates long-lasting loyalty, love and connection around a brand’s purpose. We help our clients unleash this power of purpose, putting social impact at the center of brand engagement with Hispanic audiences. We collaborate with brands in delivering socially impactful initiatives that foster prosperity and positive impact in Hispanic communities.

What should our readers know about your business?
Ever since I was a small girl, the Spanish language and Latin cultures have captivated me. I grew up in North Carolina yet was raised with a global perspective grounded in giving back and serving others – all instilled by my mother and grandmother.

I learned and studied Spanish starting in preschool – a passion that has continued throughout my life. My mother worked for the YMCA, a global organization, and traveled across Latin America building partnerships with YMCAs in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay. She brought back amazing stories and artifacts that sparked my curiosity. In college I had the opportunity to live in Costa Rica as a volunteer with the YMCA serving local youth in Purral de Guadalupe, a small town outside of San Jose. I also lived in Spain as a student at the University of Salamanca and volunteer with the Ronald McDonald House in Barcelona.

This passion for the Spanish language and cultures – combined with a desire to serve – has manifested throughout my career, and is at heart of my business, Saramar Group. My work has been a unique blend of corporate and nonprofit experience. Before starting the business, I worked on the multicultural marketing team at The Coca-Cola Company leading national Hispanic marketing campaigns. Prior to Coke, I served as Communications & PR Manager at the Latin American Association, a prominent nonprofit serving the metro Atlanta Hispanic community.

In 2018, I took a leap of faith to start a business grounded in purpose, positive impact, and passion. Above all, I founded Saramar Group because I believe brands have the power to change the world for good. I’ve personally seen how a higher purpose can create long-lasting loyalty, love and connection between a brand and its consumers. At Saramar Group we help our clients unleash that power of purpose, putting impact at the center of brand engagement with Hispanic audiences.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta for a week, here are some of the things that would be on the agenda: – Eating out at restaurants (Cold Beer, Nina & Rafis, Boca Luppo, Buena Vida, Bar Taco, and more!)
– Walking in Piedmont Park
– Walking along the Beltline
– Grabbing food or snacks at Krog Street Market and Ponce City Market (including Jenny’s Ice Cream 🙂 )
– Visiting the Civil Rights museum (Still haven’t been and want to go!)
– We would also stay active: Barre Class at Exhale, Yoga Class at Core Power, Pilates at Stellar Bodies
– There would also be some chilling in my condo and watching movies
– Then, I would like to throw in a 2 day excursion to Savanah!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d like to recognize the City of Atlanta’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Initiative (WEI), an incredible 15-month incubator program for women-owned start-ups. The program has provided a support system and community of amazing women entrepreneurs who are traveling the same journey of scaling a business. The past year has been challenging due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and being part of the program and community has kept me going.
