We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara Garner and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
When starting my business it wasn’t really this grand gesture that I had, I had received my first camera for Christmas in 2014 and I was fascinated with taking photos of family and friends that love just grew and one day I started receiving messages asking how much I charged for sessions and here we are today. I specialize in wedding photography with a love for traveling all over the country to document love stories.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart from others is I try to provide an experience that’s unmatched, the level of kindness, compassion, and dedication I have for capture such special precious memories on such a monumental day in my clients lives is such a treasure for me. I get to stand next to my couples as they marry the love of their lives, how special is that! The challenges that comes with wedding photography are not for the faint of heart, no two wedding days are similar there is always a twist or turn you have to stay on your toes for. Whether this be waiting on a weather call, bridal emergencies, venue mishaps, being a quick thinker and always ready to make a quick decision with the knowledge I have from the years of experience is challenging. Lessons I’ve learned along the way, the kindness you share with you clients goes a long way, the experience and how you treat people speaks volumes for word of mouth business and the relationships I have made along the way will be ones I cherish for years to come.

Sara Garner Photography believes in providing an experience along with moments documented that my clients will look back on and cherish. I create a timeless wedding look with my images. My motto has always been “Freezing time for the timeless madly in love brides. “

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Let’s set the stage the girls come into town, I’ll take them downtown to our cute little town grab some breakfast at the local mom and pop shop, go for a little walk downtown do a little shopping at some of the local boutiques, go for a swim in the lake, and head back in for dinner to get ready for our steakhouse dinner. When the girls come in we love to relax by the pool out back, hit the golf courses, and grab dinner at the nicest places. I guess you could say we are foodies!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Someone that deserves credit for where I have gotten with my business would be my grandparents, they always encouraged me whether it was helping me upgrade my gear when I first started or the over pouring love they gave me. Growing up I always watched my grandpa work incredibly hard to make sure the family was always taken care of, something most take for granted my grandpa helped me see the value in work ethic, allowing me to see when you fail you get back up and work harder and never give up if you have a passion for something.
