We had the good fortune of connecting with Sara and Jon Taylor and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sara and Jon, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wasn’t planning on opening my own shop but when the opportunity arose I knew I wanted to continue to work for myself and grow my business in a direction I could control. I reached out to my now co-owner about the opportunity and we immediately started to build our new brand and business.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I started out as an apprentice as most tattoo artists do, working multiple jobs and struggling to find my footing as a young adult. I continued to work to improve my artwork and tattooing, and eventually found myself at the shop I now own. The previous owner gave me a wonderful opportunity that, at the time, I had no idea would lead me here. After six years of building up my clientele and improving my skills, I am proud to say that I am well versed in a variety of tattoo styles, including blackwork, neotraditional, pop culture and botanical work. I pride myself on taking people’s ideas and turning them into an awesome piece of customized artwork for them to carry forever.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Cafe Intermezzo, for sure. Their coffee and food is unmatched. I also discovered a place called Bastone that has amazing wine and charcuterie boards. The aquarium is a must-see as well, but these are all a little further from the shop. In Kennesaw, I highly recommend the Revolving Sushi Factory, everyone at the shop loves it there. For fun, we like to go to Bowlero and play some arcade games and then do a couple games of bowling.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
We would not have been able to do this without the help of our employees, Anthony Stokes and Sky Atkins. They were completely on board and have made the transition a huge success. We also wouldn’t be here without the amazing clientele our artists have brought to the business.
