We had the good fortune of connecting with Santasia Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Santasia, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
For me, I always check the why behind what I’m doing. I’ve been a makeup artist and now an esthetician, and one thing I’ve learned is that passion gets you started, but purpose keeps you going.

When I hit a wall, I pause and ask myself:
Is this still connected to my purpose? Is this something God has truly called me to steward?

Everything I’ve built, from doing soft glam and editorial looks, to helping brides feel like the best version of themselves, to stepping into the esthetician world, and even growing as a content creator, all of it has come from trusting God with every level. On the slow days, the overlooked days, and the ‘why am I doing this?’ days, God always reminds me: Consistency is a form of faith.

And honestly, when beauty stopped being just beauty for me, when it became a ministry of confidence, healing, and transformation, that’s when I realized it was bigger than technique. I get to pour into people, help them feel seen, and help them see themselves the way God sees them. That’s what keeps me going.

But I’ve also learned that letting go isn’t quitting. Sometimes God will close a door you’re still trying to decorate.
If something no longer brings peace, no longer grows me, or pulls me away from the woman God is shaping me to be, that’s when I know it’s time to release it or pivot.
Peace is a compass.

So for me, it’s simple:
If it’s growing me, aligning me, and producing fruit, I keep going.
If it’s draining me, confusing me, or disconnecting me from God. I’ve learned to let it go.

Both decisions require courage. But as long as I’m moving with God, I’m never really giving up, I’m just evolving.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is rooted in transformation; not just on the outside, but how a person feels when they get up from my chair. I’ve always believed natural beauty is the best look, but makeup is the tool that allows me to enhance what’s already there. My style is soft glam with a precise brow, clean blends, and seamless finishes. I focus on creating a fabulous finish with every stroke of my brush.

What sets me apart is the intention behind my work. I don’t just apply makeup; I serve people. I meet them where they are and give them a safe space. Whether it’s a bride on the biggest day of her life, a client stepping into a new season, or someone who just needs to feel seen and poured into. My Vanity Dolls always tell me they leave my chair feeling not only beautiful, but uplifted, and that’s the part of my craft I’m most proud of.

Getting here wasn’t easy. I’ve been a makeup artist for six years, and my journey has been full of trials, lessons, and moments that tested my faith and my confidence. I started organically, just doing what I loved and realizing I was naturally influential. Over time, I learned the business side, built my brand piece by piece, and trusted God to guide my steps. Every setback taught me something; patience, resilience, and how to show up even when things weren’t perfect.

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that quality matters more than quantity. When you take your time, honor your gift, and pour into each face with intention, your work will always speak for itself. I’ve also learned that your story is part of your artistry; everything I’ve experienced shows up in how I work, how I treat my clients, and how I move in my purpose.

What I want the world to know about me and my brand is simple: I’m here to make people feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. My gift is bigger than makeup . . . it’s ministry, it’s service, and it’s impact. And I’m excited for where God is taking me next.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Day 1: Monday –
My friend lands in the afternoon, and we kick things off at Spondivits for oysters and drinks. A casual, fun way to start the trip and soak in some local energy. After that, we head back to my place so they can settle in, freshen up, and get comfortable. Once ready, it’s off to Blu Seafood for all-you-can-eat crab legs, because nothing says indulgence like Atlanta seafood done right. To end the night with full energy, we hit Magic City, giving them a true taste of Atlanta nightlife and unforgettable vibes.

Day 2: Tuesday –
I take my friend to Jeju Spa for a luxurious pampering session. After that, I give them a soft glam makeover; precise brows, glowing skin, the whole vibe. For dinner, we head to Rreal Tacos and enjoy some delicious tacos paired with a margarita. Casual, fun, and perfect for the night’s energy.

Day 3: Wednesday –
We start the day by cooking breakfast at home, relaxing and catching up over a cozy morning. Then we head out to explore the SCAD Museum to soak in creativity and local art. Lunch is at a spot nearby; somewhere fun and casual to keep the day flowing. To end the night, we hit Flo for R&B Wednesday, dancing and enjoying the music to cap off a perfect midweek vibe.

Day 4: Thursday
We start the day with a chill vibe, and for lunch, we order all flats, extra crispy, with lemon pepper sprinkles from American Deli, because that’s a vibe you can’t skip in Atlanta. Later, we get creative and intentional by making vision boards, setting goals, and manifesting the things we’re dreaming about. Evening could flow into a relaxed night in or casual hangout to reflect on our boards and enjoy good conversation.

Day 5: Friday
We spend the day exploring Perimeter Mall, checking out shops and finding cute outfits. Later, we hit happy hour at Fin & Feathers, then go bar hopping along Edgewood Avenue. For some extra fun, we stop at The Painted Duck for games, drinks, and laughs. A playful, energetic twist to cap off the day.

Day 6: Saturday –
We start the morning with a walk along the Atlanta BeltLine, enjoying the sights, murals, and fresh air. Afterward, we grab ice cream from Jeni.

For the night, we head to Buckhead Saloon for a playful evening of napkin wars, laughter, and unforgettable fun:the perfect mix of chill day vibes and high-energy nighttime memories.

Day 7: Sunday
We start at Berean Christian Church for service, grounding the trip in faith and reflection. Then, Sunday dinner at my auntie’s house for family, love, and soul food. To close out the week, we go skating at Cascade, tapping into that nostalgic, joyful Atlanta energy.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I am a strong believer in giving props where props are due. First and foremost, I want to thank God, because I am nothing without Him. Every level I’ve stepped into as a makeup artist, esthetician, creator, and full-on beauty extraordinaire has been nothing but His grace, His timing, and His favor. I am a true believer in divine timing, none of this is by accident.

I also have to honor my family, especially my mama, Sylvia, who gets the recognition she so desperately deserves. Although she’s no longer here physically, her love, prayers, and unwavering confidence in me still cover me today. She believed in me long before I saw the full scope of my gifts, and I carry her voice, strength, and faith into every room I step into.

I also want to shout out my clients and supporters, the people who choose & trust me with their faces, their skin, their biggest moments, and their stories. Every soft glam, every transformation, every service, every piece of content is fueled by their faith in me and the community that continues to lift me up.

Finally, I want to recognize the mentors, creatives, and beauty innovators who’ve challenged me, inspired me, and set the bar for excellence. I study greatness, and I surround myself with it.

I stand today as a makeup artist, esthetician, creator, and full-on beauty extraordinaire, but I didn’t rise alone. Faith, family, and community shaped this journey, and for that, I am forever grateful
