We had the good fortune of connecting with Saniya Render and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Saniya, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When i was younger i loved taking pictures of everybody around me. I would always like dress my cousins up and tell them poses to do so i could take their pictures. It’s always been something i’ve loved to do. I just love capturing people’s beauty on camera and seeing them happy when i bring their vision to life.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m very excited to see my skills and my business excel. I’m still not where i want to be with the editing or with how i promote myself. It’s definitely not easy, there are times when business is super low and you start to doubt yourself & wonder if you should keep going. I just have to keep reminding myself to never stop. I know that there’s so much more to learn with photography and i’m willing to learn everything there is to be one of the best at it.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Wow this is a hard one since i barely go out anymore but when i think back i could nana a few places. Before it closed down i would take all my friends to buckhead saloon. It was this really fun bar that you could buy napkins & like throw napkins instead of money. Another place we could go is milk & honey it’s a brunch restaurant and all the food is literally 10/10. If we’re out looking for a more expensive vibe we could go to Garden room they have really cute drinks and the scenery is beautiful. Great place to take pictures. We could end it with a Hawks game because why not?

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to give a special shout-out to Devin Mccallister. He is a photographer as well. I first told him that I wanted to model a couple years ago but he made me realize i rather be behind the camera. He’s not even aware that he’s the one who inspires to actually pursue my photography career.
