We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandria Taylor-Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sandria, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
Yes, my favorite quote is “Try not to become a person of success, but rather try to become a person of value.” – Albert Einstein
I like this quote because I try to emulate this philosophy. I want to be seen as someone who adds value/build relationships and contributes to my community rather than focus on my achievements or what’s in it for me.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a realtor with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners who services metro Atlanta and surrounding areas. I became interested in the real estate arena in 2016 when I started to pursue the pre-license course and few real estate wholesaling classes. I however, felt like I wasn’t fully equipped psychologically and financially so I put my real estate goals on hold and pursed a career in banking. Six years later (2021), I revisited my real estate goals and the only regret I have is that I didn’t go after my goals as I intended. Real estate is my passion! My love for people and being able to help my clients achieve their real estate goals is so fulfilling.
I am not a transactional type of realtor, I firmly believe that the relationship we build and the value I add is far greater than the financial rewards I achieve.
I am constantly educating myself through coaching, ongoing training and development. I study the real estate market, negotiate, advocate and network with other real estate professionals to be the best for my clients. I love when I’m able to educate and empower my clients to guide them throughout one of the biggest transactions in their lives.
I make myself available as a resource to anyone who need my expertise.
Additionally, I am an International agent with Keller Williams Punta Cana (Dominican Republic). I also intend to service Jamaica as that’s my home country but currently doing so through referrals.
Outside of real estate, I operate an Airbnb and trucking business along with my husband. Being an entrepreneur definitely comes with ups and downs but when you are passionate about what you do, you are able to focus on the positive outcomes. The gratification I get helping others while building my brand is unmatched.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow, let’s see… I would first purchase the Atlanta Citypass which is valid for 9 days and includes admission to 5 great attractions such as: Georgia Aquarium, World of Coco-Cola, Zoo Atlanta, College Football Hall of Fame and Fernbank Museum.
Then, we would explore other great spots I love to visit including:
Atlanta Botanical Garden
High Museum of Art
Atlanta Beltline
Ponce City Market
Truist Park
Stone Mountain Park
Decatur Glassblowing
Nikolai’s Roof
Rumi’s Kitchen
The Select Restaurant and Bar
Le Colonial Restaurant
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family is the backbone of where I am today. My husband, Jonathan is my #1 cheerleader. He believes in me even when I have self-doubts. He supports my dreams and is very understanding when I have to work late – he understands the end goal. My mom is definitely a motivating factor. She encourages me to be the best version of myself and to create a legacy for my children.
Latoya Sanderson-Hensley, my sister calls me every morning to see what’s on the agenda for the day and provides words of encouragement.
There are other family members and friends who are always there for me. I salute those who are close to me and for seeing me through my highs and lows. I have a strong support system and I am forever grateful to everyone who impacted my life.
