We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra D Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra D, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I saw a vacancy in the space of who and what was being provided to link parent and child during behavior crisis! The system is set up to provide redirect services for youth who get in some form of trouble. There was no consideration for the needs of whole family unit.

The problem behaviors of youth, are connected to the whole family.

So I created Family ReDirect by providing emotional and mental health coaching and creative resources for building relational sustainability for the individual and the family unit!!

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
MADISEL Group, LLC A coaching group that specializes in emotional and mental wellness support for individuals, groups, and families.
MADISEL is an acronym that stands for Making A Difference In Someone Else’s Life. We don’t just believe that it takes a village to raise a child, we believe that it takes The Right Village People to invest and encourage wellness for the whole family unit!

We provide individual and family group coaching to those with behavioral, emotional, and relational issues. Our uniqueness comes through our development of creative, tangible products that bring awareness and support to improve self and relationships through emotional and mental healing.

One of our products that we are most proud of is TheBeWellBox™: An Emotional Life & Mental Wellness Kit for Individuals, Groups, Classrooms & Families.

We would like to see this resource in every home and school in order to stir healthier communication and wellness everywhere!!

Helping people is hard work! But I love serving others for the purpose of making a difference for the next generation to pass on love and wellness to others.

One of my brand quotes— “Family wellness strengthens the community. Strong communities influence the world.”

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I live in Jacksonville, FL and I love the beaches of this area, from St. Augustine to Fernandina’s American Beach that is loaded with African American history. We can go and explore different beaches up or down the coast searching for special spots to relax and explore.
Let’s try 3 new restaurants while you visit! There are multiple new spots always opening because my city is expanding in some great ways! Before the day gets too hot, we will rise early and take a beautiful nature walk at the Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens! We can spend a hot afternoon inside the Cummer Art Gallery and in the evening take in some shopping of every kind at the St. John’s Town Center.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I will forever be grateful for the love of my grandmother, Ida Mae Johnson, born in the early 1900’s! She loved family in a very sacrificial way. I saw her love and hard work so that our family could have a sense of belonging and connectivity. Therefore, I wanted other people around my community to have a banner of love and connectivity in their lives. Her love motivated me to love others.
