We had the good fortune of connecting with Sandra Butler and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sandra, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
After having been in business for over 15 yrs, servicing and mentoring many clients and new agents, I realized that I had a gift to give to the marketplace, which I felt I was not properly able to do by continuing to work under a brokerage that was not my own. I recently decided to open my own Real Estate firm, to provide a platform where agents and clients alike would be able to get an unparalleled real estate experience.

What should our readers know about your business?
As a teenage-working single mother of two, I knew I had to do something that would afford me more time to spend with my children, and that would also allow me to be in control of my earning abilities. In 2006, I decided to become a Realtor. It was extremely difficult in the beginning juggling this new business and motherhood, which resulted in me not selling a single house for the first 2 years and completely exhausting my bit of savings; consequently having to go back into the workforce. After my children both graduated from high school, I decided to give it another shot…but this time give it my all. In 2016 I went full time in Real Estate and created what is today an amazing business servicing clients with their every real estate need, educating newer agents and my most recent accomplishment, opening my own Real Estate Firm.

What I know to be true is that regardless of where you come from, regardless of your income status, with a vision and with the right support team which for me was my two children, you can do anything. I often look back and just thank God for allowing me to show them that anything they put their minds to they can achieve. Caterpillar Properties is a firm that believes in providing a luxurious and unparalleled experience to every client regardless of price point.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is filled with amazing attractions, restaurants and people. We would definitely visit all the traditional sites such as Centennial Park, The Carter Center and King Center, The Aquarium, and even perhaps take a stroll on the Beltline before partaking in the many amazing local restaurants the city has to offer. Their visit wouldn’t be complete without us checking out the Roswell Mill, Chattahoochee Park and the Avalon in Johns Creek. One of my favorite locations to do a little shopping and dining.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have an amazing circle of friends, colleagues and partners that continuously support and pour into and encourage me in everything that I do. The overwhelming amount of love and encouragement that I receive from my Mentees as well as my Real Estate colleagues is very humbling and I’m beyond grateful. Of course none of my success would be possible without the unconditional love and support of my two children, Robert and Ava. They have always stood by my side, cheering for me to go after my wildest dreams. They are the reason I do everything that I do.
