We had the good fortune of connecting with Samira Barker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samira, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
Live Life to the Fullest. God only gives us one life. Yes, there are plenty of second chances, but the decisions that we make cannot be undone. Every day is an important day to live, to strive, and to consider how we can live our lives to the fullest. We are all born to do something. We were all born to touch others, to share our gifts, to inspire and uplift others, to show love to all, and share love with all. When we turn our attention to God, he promised to meet all of our needs and provide all of the answers we required. I don’t think that God intended for our lives to be boring or bland. God wants us to love others and share our hearts with others. Using our strengths to help others, every day that we are blessed to wake up and live is an opportunity to be a blessing to others. This is the assignment that God gave us. To live life to the fullest is to take a leap into the unknown. The unknown is not unknown to God, only unknown to us. A life lived to the fullest is a life that is characterized by being in a relationship with Jesus, because he himself is the definition of life, love, peace, gratitude, and friendship. When you accept that you can make a difference by living life to the fullest and using your talents and strengths to serve others, God wins, and I believe in glorifying God in all things.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
A Medical Billing Trainer and Consultant I have been in the medical field for 18 years. I give all credit to Christ for giving me the gift of learning and understanding the aspect of medical billing. I am excited to be the owner of Barker Medical Billing and Consulting God is the CEO, and I am the servant. Understanding medical billing, I can honestly say that it was not always easy. Learning to wait on God, to trust his timing was not at all easy. It took me a long time to understand that grooming and pruning is necessary. Learning to wait on God bodly believing that God is constantly working, requires faith, and trust. We all have lessons to learn, and until those lessons are mastered, our own progress will be held up. I want the world to know that believing in God is so important. There is no need to hold on to the past, hold on to regret, hold on to fear. This is not the will of our father, Jesus Christ. Every day we are given opportunities to be a blessing to others. Do not let a day go by without finding a reason to be grateful.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Atlanta, Georgia is a big city. First I would take them downtown to see the MLK Museum, then a few monumental locations. Of course, we would go to church. Eat dinner at Pascal’s, which is a historical restaurant in Atlanta. Their food is so delicious. This is the restaurant where I was blessed to have my wedding rehearsal dinner. After dinner, we would take a nice walk downtown. I would hope that Michelle Obama would be in town for me to meet. I would also ask God to let us meet Priscilla Shirer.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First I Give Honor to God who is the head of my life, the author, and the finisher. My Mother Laura Muhammad who consistently is praying for me. My Husband Daniel Barker my friend, my best supporter, and all of my family and friends. My Mentors Treshelle Williams, and Ashlee Record.
