Meet Samantha Smith | Holistic Midwife & Women’s Health Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Samantha, is there something you believe many others might not?
I would say that most of the way I run my business goes against the conventional “hustle culture” that we are surrounded with. Much of what I teach my clients comes from my own practices of cyclical living and hear/soul based work. As a women’s coach, I show women how to attune to their unique inherent feminine flow and how to make the wold work for them instead of forcing themselves into the mold. Much of the way we conduct life in society today is designed around the biochemistry of men. When women learn about how our physiology is different we can being to design systems that allow us to optimize our creativity and productivity with ease.
Life feels very hard for many women and most of us internalize that and feel there is something wrong with us. But what if were not the issue what if the systems were attempting to assimilate too just weren’t designed for us? I have used these learning to build a heart centered business of my own and it’s my hope that other women will find this too.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I support women in returning to their divine power through holistic healing. I support every womb, women in all stages of life from monarch to menopause. My primary focus is supporting women in health sovereignty through education. I teach about the female anatomy, hormones, fertility, conception, pregnancy and birth.
I feel that it is my divine purpose in this lifetime to hold space for women in my community and facilitate the remembrance of and return to their Divine Feminine Power. My fascination with physiology and biochemistry combined with my deep intuitive resonance with Spirit was pulling me toward the path of Authentic Midwifery. I began reading every book I could get my hands on related to pregnancy and childbirth while simultaneously strengthening my intuitive gifts.
I believe that conception, pregnancy and birth are equal parts physical and spiritual.experiences. After a near death experience in 2017 I was given the gift of clarity of my purpose. That experience gave me a deep reverence for life and death. It gave me perspective around the importance of taking accountability for our health and our healing. No longer did I wish to outsource my health to others. Finding body literacy and sovereignty for myself inspired me to want to serve as a lighthouse for others wishing to do the same. As women, I believe that if we heal ourselves we will in turn heal the world, a world that needs so much healing now more than ever. Returning women to their divine through their conception, pregnancy and birth experience seems to me to be the most direct path to this healing.
I have an unquenchable thirst for knowledge related to physiology, homeopathy, endocrinology and nutrition. I believe that knowledge is power and distilling knowledge in such a way that it is consumable and actionable by all is a unique lane of genius for me. I have the ability to distill and articulate complex topics in ways that make them approachable.
I also have the gift of empathy. Through my own life experiences I have come to believe that we as humans are all one consciousness. The ailments and pain of my sisters is also my own. This enables me to approach my work with the utmost care and reverence.
I have been referred to by close friends and loved ones as inhabiting a Divine Mother energy. I am often called upon to support my sisters in their darkest, most vulnerable time to hold space for them and nurture them with love and support. I am honored to be received this way.
In addition to having reverence for women’s bodies and health, I have been gifted with an awareness of my Spiritual Gifts. I serve women as an energy healer and psychic medium specifically attuned to the Spirit Baby realm. As a birth keeper this has served me more so than any other skill or knowledge I could have, as it gives me a direct link to the baby. The women I support often share that this brings them comfort and allows them to explore the thinning veil of pregnancy and birth in profound life changing ways.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As an ATL native I have seen many sides of this city. I think what I love most about Atlanta is it’s diversity and culture. Most of my time is spent exploring East Atlanta / Inman Park area as well as the West End where I live. I’m always on the look out for art, food and music because I think that is where you really get to feel the culture of Atlanta. Some of my favorite pastimes would probably be sitting on the patio at 97 Estoria or bar hopping on Edgewood.
For the Best Day Ever itinerary I think it would go something like this:
Bagels & Coffee at Emerald City for Breakfast
Yoga and Art at Peters Street Station Gallery
A walk and shopping around Little 5
Sushi Burritos at Poke Burri in EAV for lunch
Rug Tufting Class at Our Bar in the afternoon (check out thetuftestguyintown.com)
Dinner at Delbar in Inman Park
Drinks on Edgewood (Church and Joystick)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Shoutout goes out to the WOMEN! All the women who came before me to chart the course for a better world for all of us. The women doings heart centered work showing up and serving their communities. As women we are stronger together. Were designed to live in community and congregation. One woman can change the world sure but it’s much easier together.
I would specifically like to say thank you to the grand-midwives. The lineage of these respected midwives originated in Africa and were often the sole health care providers for their communities. It is their knowledge and stories that have been passed down that allow us to perpetuate this work with integrity. Their lineage continues on through all women who choose a path of service to other women.
