We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Langworthy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks is something that a person is going to go through many times in their life. It’s pretty inevitable as we take risks everyday just walking outside our front door or walking across the street. I feel we shouldn’t be afraid of taking risks in our lives because those risks can ultimately change our entire future or our career path, whichever our mind is set on, for either good or for bad. More so, I think the reason why people are afraid of taking risks is because of the fear of the unknown. We don’t really know what’s going to happen if we take a risk so a lot of times we’ll take a step back and not take the risks causing us to miss out on something that could potentially be life-changing.

Taking risks in my own personal life has played a positive role and a negative role. Different time periods of my life I had made decisions that caused chaos or dysfunction in my life but more so now as an adult my risks and decisions that I take now are usually for good and for moving forward in a positive way. Taking a risk of starting a small business is definitely one of those. I opened up a business knowing that it could potentially fail but as long as I stay positive and work hard at what I was trying to build then it would always be positive and always a bring a brighter path.

What should our readers know about your business?
In January of 2023, Jane Moe Designs had been rebranded from Jane of Art, which was specific to paintings, to its’ current name starting off with vinyl stickers and decals. Moving forward and with many ideas ahead, other products such as custom clothing, organic candles, wax melts, soaps, sugar scrubs and soon to be released shampoo bars and deodorant sticks began being produced. With support from family, friends and loyal customers, we have grown to where we are today. Our mission being to introduce homemade organic products and be a all natural business.

As the owner of Jane Moe Designs, I strive to create all natural self-care products that promote health and beauty. As well as self-care products, I also can create custom designs as stickers, decals, clothing and more.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I honestly would take them to Tampa Florida. We had just moved from there to Lakeland but the downtown scene and tourist scene is one of the best I have ever been to.

The first thing would be to walk the Riverwalk of downtown Tampa. There are many restaurants and shops along the entire river and it’s a great place to mingle and get your steps in. We would stop at Four Green Fields for delicious Irish drinks then finish the night off at Gen X, a local restaurant styled in the 80s and 90s, for their amazing burgers. We then would make our way to Ybor City where we can take the trolley back and forth to downtown for free as well as going to GameTime which is an arcade with food and drinks.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I think the ones that deserve the most recognition and credit aiding in my success are the ones that truly believed in me and truly supported my goals and my ideas. Anyone who promoted me through word of mouth or even promoted through an online presence, the very loyal customers that I have had, and with the love and support of my significant other, Daniel, they are the true heroes behind it all. I am so incredibly thankful for everyone involved in my success story. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them.
