We had the good fortune of connecting with Samantha Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Samantha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process behind creating my business was to create food that was beneficial to one’s body mind and soul. In understanding that what we put in our bodies heavily impact not only our physical health but also impacts our mental and more often than not our spiritual health. Therefore, I wanted to create food and products that address and improve all of these areas.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My previous professional background was in mental health. That experience along with my own battle with mental health and unhealthy eating practices, led to identifying food as an issue, in the deterioration of one’s body mind and soul, their overall quality of Life. Additionally, after loosing both parents to cancer, as a result of unhealthy eating practices that stemmed from unresolved mental/emotional health issues, God placed it on my heart to aid in remedying this issue. I have always enjoyed cooking and always been creative, so it wasn’t to far of a stretch to now marry these skills to cultivate meals that heal. It wasn’t easy to get here, because I took a leap of faith and left the field I was familiar and comfortable with to embark on a journey I had very little knowledge about, running a business. I faced many challenges and had to regroup with God quite often, for greater understanding of this vision and how to effectively execute the direction given. I’ve learned to be more receptive to new information no matter how uncomfortable it may seem to attain or implement it. I’ve learned to pace myself in everything, instead of moving quickly or inconsistently. I’ve learned that when you give your ideas dreams and plans to God first, He will always find a way for you, as long as you trust in Him to lead you.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Well most of my friends, and myself included enjoy outdoor activities and all things creative. So I would definitely want to take them on a hike , Amicolola Falls is one of my favorite places to go. For a nice night on the town I’d probably take them to the Poetry Circle or Apache Lounge for a chill vibe of stimulating word play. To dine, I Love feeding others, so more than likely I’d prepare a few of their favorite dishes just because they know it’s made with all the Love I have for them.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to acknowledge God for being the source of my strength creativity and success of my business, this far. Without God I would not have been able to consider this concept. Without God I would not have been able to connect to people and serve those in need of my service, and who appreciate the value of what I aimed to do with food, heal others body mind and soul. Without God I would not have been able to sustain this business, without the traditional team, financial support and business mentors/knowledge like other businesses may have. It was having Faith in God, and trusting in Him to guide me, educate me, and God that cultivated opportunities for me to thrive in. He is my CEO and I happily serve under His leadership. I dedicate everything I am and my business is to God.
