We had the good fortune of connecting with Salina Jackson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Salina, we’d love for you to start things off by telling us something about your industry that we and others not in the industry might be unaware of?
Many times, when people think of home staging, their minds instantly think of beautifying a home. But the reality is, staging is more than just decorating; it’s a science. Each home has its own unique personality, and the stager must recognize this and pull that splendor out of the home to bring it to life. Think of a home as an introvert- staging can help the home express and evoke feeling. Positioning items, arranging furniture, scaling pieces to create flow, and using colors and textures to excite or calm the eye are just a few techniques used when staging.

Also, people feel that staging is optional. However, if you want top dollar for your home, it is critical to professionally stage. According to Realtor.com, staged homes sell 88% faster than their unstaged counterparts and sell for 20% more. In addition, 97% of buyer’s agents reported that staging affects the buyer’s view of the home (source: National Association of Realtors). So not only is staging a key factor in selling a home but it is an essential element for potential buyers.

What should our readers know about your business?
Frame to Stage is not your average staging company. In addition to staging vacant homes, vacation rentals, new construction, and Airbnb’s, we also work directly with investors looking to flip homes. We work closely with one of Atlanta’s top realtors who creates a customized market analysis for the investor. This way, the investor knows their sales potential prior to the home’s renovation. We also have a list of resources and contractors to help get projects underway quickly and efficiently. Once the remodel is done, we stage the home to get it on the market and ready to sell. Our team has an outstanding eye for design, and we are there every step of the way… from frame to stage.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m an outdoorsy person and I love discovering new places. But if I were to narrow it down to my favs, it would have to be Vickery Falls and the trails at Stone Mountain and Tribble Mill Park. I also recently discovered Stillwell’s Emporium in Stone Mountain Village. They have really cool crystals, stones, and waistbands and everyone is so inviting. The whole Stone Mountain Village area is such a vibe in itself. I could spend an entire day (or two) popping into shops and discovering eateries there.

When I’m not exploring outside, I love a good dinner/lounge spot. EscovitcheZ Legendary Island Cuisine in Snellville is my top favorite right now. Their Bob Marley’s are just perfect (it’s hard to find a place that can make a good Bob Marley). Plus, anything that I’ve every ordered was simply savory and seasoned to perfection! This place embodies everything I love- great food and drinks, awesome vibes, and good music. You can’t go wrong.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My husband, Ryan, is my biggest supporter. He really believes in me and encourages me to be the best version of myself. We can look back and laugh now, but when I started staging and home design, I bought so many pieces that we had a dining set in our laundry room, beds and mattresses in the dining room, and boxed tables, mirrors, and decor against walls throughout our home. It was a mess! After everything was out, he made sure to make a gentle reminder. “All of the staging stuff is all going into storage until you need it again, right?” Got to love it!
