Meet Sadie Diaz | Wedding Coordinator

We had the good fortune of connecting with Sadie Diaz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sadie, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The biggest factor to the success of EWS is providing a great service. It brings me joy when the bride/groom and their guests are thankful and compliment me on how good of a job I did. I didn’t have a positive experience with the company that coordinated my wedding. Every bride and groom deserves for their special day to go as smoothly as possible. That is what I set out to do every time I coordinate a wedding. The bride & groom have one job on their wedding day, have fun and cherish this day.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Elegant Wedding Services was birthed out of a passion for planning and coordinating events. And yes, I am such a typical girl because I absolutely love weddings. EWS allows me to combine both my passion and my love for weddings. We provide month-of event coordination services specializing in weddings. We are also starting to coordinate Quinceaneras, which we are super excited about. Although most of my clients hire me at an early stage of their event planning, my work typically begins the month of the event. We meet with our clients on a regular basis to stay connected and assist in whichever way possible. This could include recommending vendors,  providing guidance during the planning process, etc…

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
The Metro Area of Atlanta is full of a ton of great spots and it would be impossible to experience them all in a week. If I had to plan for a week of things to do in ATL for a friend, I would start with some good authentic tacos at Rreal Tacos. In no particular order, throughout the week we would check out these spots: Ponce City Market (hangout on the rooftop and take in the beautiful views)
Hop on a scooter to explore the Beltline (assuming the weather is good)
Attend an Atlanta United Game (the vibe and crowd is incredible)
The Select Restaurant (Their House Made Lasagna is fantastic!)
An Atlanta visit is incomplete without a stop at The Battery (This would be a spot that we visit on a Friday or Saturday for girls night out.)
Cafe Intermezzo (We would hang out and enjoy some coffee, delicious desserts and have girl talk.)
Imagine Picasso Exhibition (introduction to the art side of Metro Atlanta.)
Ipic (can’t go wrong with catching a movie at an upscale movie theater where food and drinks are allowed)
To cap off the visit, I would take my friend to Politan Row at Colony Square for dinner (Plenty of food options!).

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have to shout out my husband because he is the one who noticed how much I enjoyed planning and organizing events. While on our honeymoon, my husband asked me if I ever thought about coordinating weddings. That simple question was all the inspiration I needed to start Elegant Wedding Services. He has been super supportive and helpful throughout the entire process. I wouldn’t be able to do this without my hubby because while I am coordinating weddings he is the one at home with our son. He is such a great dad!

Yolanda Shorthouse is another person I would like to shout out. She is the one who taught me about wedding coordination and has been a great mentor and team mate. I am still learning from her in many ways.
