We had the good fortune of connecting with Sadia J. and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Sadia, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
“If I didn’t define myself, for myself. I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies for me and eaten alive.” – Audre Lorde … One of my favorite quotes. It reminds me that being authentic is always the right way to be, being yourself, defining yourself, no one else can tell you who you are because you know who you are, they just have to sit back and watch/listen and experience you for who you truly are. Some may like it, some may not, oh well. Leave it to others they’ll try to put you in a box that play into their fantasies/needs, not today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The biggest thing for me is consistency. I have so many moving parts because I have multiple brands (GoddessFlowNyc, Muselovelychaos, WritingxWrongs) and I’m also currently working on a book. So it’s hard to Juggle everything, but when you’re passionate about something you have to make the time. And other than consistency for me it’s all about being organized that part is so important. It allows things to run smoothly.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I know this city is a turn up city for sure, I would go to all the talked about food spots. Murphys, Homegrown, etc.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
It’s always my siblings for me, they’re my favorite people. They inspire me and keep me grounded. Then my mom, she just supports me no matter what. And my grandmother, she is the matriarch of the family. My sisters from another mister, they know who they are!
