We had the good fortune of connecting with Sade Wise, LMSW and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sade, what’s the most important lesson your business/career has taught you?
To have audacity. The most important lesson that having a successful career has taught me was to never allow someone the opportunity to create your narrative. I have grown so much over the years but when I began to believe in myself and have audacity when it came to my focus. I intentionally continuous learn, stay consistent in my work and treat others with kindness and respect.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
In my journey as a social worker and therapist, I’ve immersed myself in the lives of youth and families navigating through complex systems like child welfare, juvenile court, and schools. I’ve witnessed firsthand the struggles and deficits they face, but more importantly, I’ve witnessed their resilience and potential for growth.
Transitioning into therapy allowed me to provide intimate support to those who needed it most. There’s something incredibly profound about witnessing someone realize their own power, their ability to overcome obstacles and transform their lives. It’s a gift I cherish deeply.
But let’s be real, this journey hasn’t been a walk in the park. There were moments when the challenges seemed insurmountable, when doubts crept in, and when it felt like I was fighting an uphill battle. Yet, through it all, I held onto a vision of success. I visualized myself already achieving my goals, and that kept me going.
Consistency became my mantra. I pushed through every obstacle, staying laser-focused on the end goal. And when I stumbled or fell short, I leaned on my support system – those who lifted me up, dusted off my crown, and reminded me of my worth.
My brand is about owning one’s power and potential unapologetically. It’s about standing tall in the face of adversity, refusing to be swayed by doubt or fear. It’s about recognizing that within each of us lies the strength to overcome, to thrive, and to create meaningful change in the world.
So here I am, a social worker, a therapist, but above all, a believer in the power of the human spirit. And I’m here to help others discover that power within themselves.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
As a plant goddess, my ideal weekend would involve immersing myself in nature and community. I love visiting the community farmers market, especially my favorite spot in Grant Park on Sunday mornings. There’s something magical about browsing through fresh produce, connecting with local vendors, and soaking up the vibrant atmosphere.
Brunch is an absolute must for me, and exploring Atlanta’s diverse culinary scene with my friends sounds like the perfect way to start the day. After fueling up, we’d embark on some tourist adventures, perhaps wandering through the lush exhibits at Fernbank, marveling at the marine life in the Georgia Aquarium, and getting up close with the animals at the Atlanta zoo.
Despite the hustle and bustle of the city, I find solace in intimate settings. So, we’d wrap up the week with some well-deserved rest and relaxation at a spa, indulging in pampering treatments and unwinding in serene surroundings.
My laid-back nature and love for intimate gatherings define my approach to life, and spending quality time with friends in meaningful settings brings me immense joy and fulfillment.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My support system is impeccable. With the family and friends in my corner who support me fully, I couldn’t do anything but thrive. They see me and the light that shines within.
My children, Ava & Koda are my inspiration. Knowing that they depend on me and deserve so much in this life keeps me afloat! I have an inner drive that cannot sow doubt in my mind or fear in my heart.
