We had the good fortune of connecting with Sabir Angelica Gilbert and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Sabir, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting my own business is simple. I wanted to do more than just work for someone else. I learned their business ,I followed their rules and I can’t lie, it was a success. But then I got to thinking I can also do this and pay myself, not particularly the craft at the current time I worked. But I can find a way to make what I love work for me.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My podcast was started in 2019. I’ve been on numerous radio shows, podcast videos etc. I enjoyed it so much that when it didn’t last with the other ventures, I decided it was time to create my own. Definitely my ambition sets me aside from others. I won’t stop until what I set my goal out to be is reached. I’m most excited about my future and what I’m doing to make sure it’s great. I got to where I am today by being persistent. Keep chasing your dream is so cliche, but it’s something that you should definitely take seriously.
The road is never easy but that’s what makes the Win that much more appealing.
I’ve learned to stay focused and never give up.
I want the world to know that you can really make something happen no matter the circumstances, stay prayed up. Trust your higher power and believe in yourself.
I’m a rare breed. S/O to my team JonJohn and Melanie G-Nette I couldn’t do this without them they keep me focused and the love is genuine! I appreciate y’all!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take my friend to the Botanical Garden in the “A”. It’s scenic and very interesting. I would for sure take them to Slutty Vegan best spot hands down. Also head over to Stone Mountain for a hike. And for some live entertainment maybe rock n taco in Roswell it’s exciting and always lit. It’s too many places to name in the city it really depends on what my friend would like to do. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my late Uncle Melvin Whitney. I’ve lost a lot of people I loved so very much, but losing him hit home. And I also realized life is short. We should give people flowers while their living and as long as you play your part in doing that, it will be a little easier to cope with the loss.
